Split-Sole Footwear
A shoe including an upper forming an interior portion for a foot, the interior portion including toe and heel cavities, is provided. The shoe includes a midsole having toe and heel ends and inner and outer sides. The midsole is affixed to the upper forming a bottom to the interior portion. An insole is affixed to the bottom. An outsole patch includes a toe portion disposed on the toe end of the midsole and a heel portion disposed on the heel end of the midsole. The outsole patch includes an exterior contour providing clearance between the midsole and ground when worn. A region between the heel and toe portions of the outsole patch extends from the inner to outer sides occupying a position intermediate the toe and heel ends of the midsole, permitting the shoe to fold about the region. The insole is not stitched to the upper or midsole.
FOOTWEAR
The footwear includes a sole having three holes passing through the sole. A front channel, a first rear channel and a second rear channel are formed in an underside of the sole. The footwear also includes of a strap having a front plug, a first rear plug, and a second rear plug connected to the strap. Each of the three holes in the sole are aligned with respective channels to enable the three respective plugs to pass through each respective hole. The three plugs are releasably attached to the sole and configured to allow a user's foot to be located between the strap and the sole. Each respective plug is completely located within a respective channel such that each respective plug sits flush with the underside of the sole to secure the strap to the sole. The three channels and the three plugs are of complementary size and shape.
Split-Sole Footwear
A shoe comprising an upper forming an interior portion for a foot, the interior portion including toe and heel cavities, is provided. The shoe further comprises a midsole having toe and heel ends and inner and outer sides. The midsole is stitched to the upper thereby forming a bottom to the interior portion. Heel and toe outsole patches are respectively stitched onto the midsole. An insole is affixed to the bottom of the interior portion. A spacing between the heel and toe outsole patches extends from the inner to the outer side and occupies a position intermediate the toe and heel ends thereby permitting the shoe to fold about an axis running through the spacing. The shoe folds between an extended state, in which the shoe is worn, and a folded state in which a portion of the upper comprising the toe cavity is tucked into the heel cavity.
PIVOTABLE FOOTWEAR DEVICE
Footwear having a pivotable bottom portion are generally described. For example, the footwear may include a sole having a first portion and a second portion pivotally coupled to one another. The first portion may include a tongue and the second portion may include a recess for receiving the tongue. A rod may be arranged to extend across a width of the sole and through the tongue for pivotally coupling the first portion to the second portion. In various aspects, the footwear may further include a stopper coupled to any of the tongue and the second portion proximate to the recess for limiting relative pivotal motion of the first and second portions.
