A footwear sole apparatus which has a base member and at least one insert (principal insert and/or heel insert) as well as one or more fail-safe interconnectivity mechanisms, comprised of a configuration to fit or replace the sole or partial sole of a pair or pairs of footwear. The base member is either pre-attached to a new shoe(s) or fitted onto the sole of an existing shoe(s). The base member can be attached to the insert(s), having one or more fail-safe mechanisms to enhance interconnectivity of the base member and insert(s).

A sandal, also known as a slide, having a base and a foot cover. The base has a top surface upon which a human foot rests and a periphery defined by a peripheral heel end, and a peripheral toe end. Further, the base has a longitudinal extent measured from the heel end to the toe end. A sandal having releasable strap fastening, comprising a sole, at least one strap and at least one clamping buckle and/or at least one anchor buckle. According to the invention, the sandal is modularly constructed and can be easily assembled and disassembled. The sole and the at least one strap are connected to each other by guiding the at least one strap through eyes provided in the sole. An article of footwear includes a sole structure and an upper. The upper is coupled to the sole structure so as to form a foot-receiving cavity therebetween. The upper comprises a first portion, a second portion, and an expandable panel disposed between the first portion and the second portion. The upper is movable between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration. In the compressed configuration, the first portion and the second portion are coupled together at a location adjacent to the expandable panel and the expandable panel is collapsed. In the expanded configuration, the first portion and the second portion are spaced apart from each other at the location adjacent to the expandable panel and the expandable panel is exposed. One or more dimensions of the foot-receiving cavity are larger when the upper is in the expanded configuration than when the upper is in the compressed configuration.

A shoe having a removable sole is provided. The shoe includes one or more straps that are insertable through corresponding apertures in the soles to attach a sole to a base of the shoe. The removable soles provide a shoe with capability to interchange soles, thereby providing for specialized soles to supply for a single shoe, which allows use of the shoe with various athletic sports.
