A sole structure for an article of footwear comprises a sole plate including a foot support portion with a foot-facing surface and a ground-facing surface. An opening extends through the foot support portion from the foot-facing surface to the ground-facing surface. The sole plate includes a bridge portion underlying the opening and secured to the foot support portion fore and aft of the opening. The sole structure includes a piston that has a body and a support arm extending transversely from the body. The body extends through the opening. The support arm is supported on the bridge portion, trapped below the ground-facing surface by the foot support portion, and extends under the ground-facing surface at medial and lateral sides of the opening.

A method for interlocking a shoe sole can provide the ability for the shoe sole to be attached or removed. For example, a shoe wearer may want the ability to change his or her shoe soles for aesthetic purposes. The shoe sole can also comprise additional functionality for the shoe wearer. For example, a method of also using the shoe sole as storage is discussed herein.

A third sole serving as the base of the device is made constructed from including Ethylene Vinyl Acetate EVA. A cavity with beveled edge in the first insole is configured to over-lap the chronic wounds or ulcerations. The footwear system includes one or more sensors configured to generate a value based on a surface in contact with at least one of the one or more portions. The footwear system includes an actuator configured to change, responsive to determining that the value satisfies a profile configuration condition, a configuration of the one or more portions from the first profile to a second profile in accordance with the surface.

A modular adjustable shoe includes a sole forefoot, a sole surface, a connecting block, a first fastening part, a second fastening part, a sole heel and a heel surface; the sole surface is on the sole forefoot, the heel surface is on the sole heel, the connecting block is on one side of the sole forefoot near the sole heel, the side of the sole heel near the sole forefoot has a connecting groove, the connecting block is connected to and matches the connecting groove, there are a number of first fastening holes evenly distributed on the connecting block, the sole heel has second fastening holes, both the first fastening part and second fastening part respectively go through first fastening holes and second fastening holes, and the first fastening part and the second fastening part are fastened and connected.

A foldable shoe includes a first sole section under the ball of a wearer's foot and includes a first outsole portion and a first footbed. A second sole section is located under the heel the foot and includes a second outsole portion and a second footbed. An upper section extends from the first sole section, and a hinge is connected to the first sole section and the second sole section and is configured to fold the foldable shoe from a first position, to be worn, to a second position, for storage. The upper section includes a first upper section connected to the first sole section and a second upper section connected to the second sole section. A connector connects the first upper section to the second upper section when the foldable shoe is in the first position and is disengaged when the foldable shoe is in the second position.

Disclosed herein is a footwear system with tunable flexibility properties and a process of reversibly modifying the flexibility of footwear. In particular, there is described a footwear system comprising at least two items of footwear and at least two footwear flexibility modulators with anisotropic flexibility properties. In use, the footwear system can be reversibly switched from a stiff configuration to a flexible (i.e. less stiff) configuration. Also disclosed is a method of reversibly modulating the flexibility of footwear.

A shoe includes a shoe upper that holds a wearer's foot when worn. A shoe sole is connected to the shoe upper and has a collapsible section including a body that at least partially defines a pocket in the collapsible section. An insert is installed in the pocket. The insert has a vertical thickness that expands the collapsible section and increases the vertical thickness of the shoe sole compared to when no insert is installed in the pocket. The shoe may be used for limb length correction.
