Device and Method for Aiding Putting on a Ski Boot
A device for aiding putting on a ski boot includes a flexible attachment member removably attached to the ski boot. The flexible attachment member includes a strap retention member at a front end. An end of a main strap is attached at a rear end of the flexible retention member. The other end of the main strap is threaded through the strap retention member and through a loop positioned on a tongue of the ski boot. The main strap is pulled to move the tongue toward the front of the ski boot to increase the opening into the ski boot. After the tongue is in an open position, the ends of the main strap are attached to one another to keep the tongue in an open position. A pair of side straps attached to the main strap can be pulled upwardly on either side of the ski boot to aid in pulling the ski boot onto the foot of the wearer.
Wireless hierarchical heterogeneous pico-net for ski control systems
A wireless hierarchical heterogonous pico-net providing communication between smart-phone based analysis and control application and multiplicity of sensors and actuators embedded in the ski equipment is described. The topology of this pico-net comprises two layers of hierarch, where the first layer is configured as a Bluetooth wireless network using a Round-Robin scheduling method and consisting of a single master and up-to seven slaves, and the second layer of the hierarchy is configured as a sub-nets consisting of multiplicity of sensors and actuators and communicating internally using ANT personal area network (PAN) wireless interface, or via a digital wire interface. Such network topology provides deterministic latency of a hierarchy a single-hop Bluetooth network, irrespective of the numbers of sensors and actuators embedded within each sub-net of the second layer of hierarchy. The network latency is upper-bounded by the number of slaves in the first layer of hierarch, Furthermore, the Round-Robin scheduling method is supplemented with the gating-off the slave RF transmission when the slave has no data to send, or when the difference between current sensor samples and the previous sensor sample is smaller then predefined threshold. Such discontinued transmission lowers slave power consumption system interference.
SPORT-BOOT PRESSURE MONITOR AND METHOD OF USE
A sport-boot pressure monitoring system and method of use. The system includes a left boot sensor having a left flexible fluid-containing bladder shaped to fit between a user's left leg and an interior surface of a left boot worn by the user and a left pressure sense element in pressure-sensing communication with the left flexible fluid-containing bladder, a right boot sensor that is similar to the left one, and a controller to provide a pressure alert if pressure between one of the user's legs and the interior surface of the boot worn on that leg violates a predetermined pressure threshold and to provide a proximity alert if a distance between the left and right boots violates a predetermined proximity threshold.
Article Of Footwear With Adjustable Stiffness
An article of footwear with adjustable stiffness is provided. The article of footwear in the form of a snowboard boot is provided with adjustable tensioning systems that are disposed on either side of an inner liner of the snowboard boot. The adjustable tensioning system includes a comb body structure having flex portions made of a plurality of extending fingers with a flexibility that can be controlled by the adjustable tensioning system. Depending on the level of tension applied by the tensioning system, or lack thereof, a range of flex profiles having varying amounts of stiffness are available to the wearer to adjust the overall stiffness of the snowboard boot.
System and method for physical activity performance analysis
A method for providing feedback to a skier, comprising: receiving, by a feedback computer, sensor data from a plurality of sensors associated with the skier, the sensor data representing a movement of the skier during a ski run; receiving, by the feedback computer, video data representing a video recording of the skier during the ski run; after the ski run, synchronizing, by the feedback computer, the sensor data and the video data; and simultaneously displaying, on a display screen in electrical communication with the feedback computer, the video recording and the sensor data.
TIGHTENING STRAP FOR SKI BOOTS AND SKI BOOT PROVIDED WITH SUCH STRAP
Tightening strap for ski boots adapted to be wound in a loop around the cuff of a ski boot to tighten said cuff on the user's leg; the tightening strap comprising an oblong flexible element, which is adapted to be wound around the cuff and includes at least one elastic member with auxetic behaviour formed by an oblong plate-like body, which has a monolithic structure and is divided into a plurality of contiguous flat sectors, each of which has a macroscopic reticular structure with auxetic behaviour, which structure is capable of stretching and, at the same time, also of widening in elastic manner when the oblong plate-like body is subjected to traction, and also differs from that of the adjacent flat sectors.
