The present invention has an object of providing a carboxylate compound that is useful as a raw material for fragrance compositions and has a fruity aroma, a method for producing the same, and a fragrance composition containing the carboxylate compound.

The carboxylate compound of the present invention is represented by Formula (1).

Described herein is method of making branched perfluorinated compounds, specifically (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF(CF.sub.3)C(═O)F and (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF═CF.sub.2. Also disclosed herein is a fluoropolymer derived from the branched perfluorovinyl ether monomer and methods of making the fluoropolymer.

Described herein is method of making branched perfluorinated compounds, specifically (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF(CF.sub.3)C(═O)F and (CF.sub.3).sub.2CFCF(CF.sub.3)OCF═CF.sub.2. Also disclosed herein is a fluoropolymer derived from the branched perfluorovinyl ether monomer and methods of making the fluoropolymer.

The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a carbonyl halide efficiently to the used halogenated hydrocarbon. The method for producing a carbonyl halide according to the present invention is characterized in comprising the steps of preparing a mixed gas comprising oxygen and a C.sub.2-4 halogenated hydrocarbon having one or more halogeno groups selected from the group consisting of chloro, bromo and iodo, and flowing the mixed gas and irradiating a high energy light to the flowed mixed gas.

The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a carbonyl halide efficiently to the used halogenated hydrocarbon. The method for producing a carbonyl halide according to the present invention is characterized in comprising the steps of preparing a mixed gas comprising oxygen and a C.sub.2-4 halogenated hydrocarbon having one or more halogeno groups selected from the group consisting of chloro, bromo and iodo, and flowing the mixed gas and irradiating a high energy light to the flowed mixed gas.

An object is to provide a method of producing a carboxylic acid fluoride at an increased product yield in a reaction system without forming HCl as a by-product, in other words, without forming a complex between HCl and a carboxylic acid fluoride as a product. Another object is to provide a method of producing a carboxylic acid fluoride without the necessity of using a photoreaction apparatus or a specific hydrogen fluoride adduct and hence without problems of complicating the process.

Provided is a method of producing a carboxylic acid fluoride, comprising reacting a carboxylic acid chloride with a metal fluoride. In this production method, the carboxylic acid is preferably a carboxylic acid having a carbon number of 1 to 7, the carboxylic acid is preferably a carboxylic acid substituted with fluorine, or the carboxylic acid is preferably trifluoroacetic acid.
