An injured musculoskeletal structure is mobilized relative to a juxtaposing support structure surface to isolate the injured musculoskeletal structure from forces transferred from adjoining musculoskeletal structures in order to alleviate pain, discomfort, inflammation, and further injury associated with such transferred forces.
Safety footwear
A footwear system is disclosed, which includes a shell having an inner cavity and at least one recessed area offset from an inner surface of the shell, and a chassis having one or more components adapted to protect a user's foot from injury. In one embodiment, the chassis is insertable into the inner cavity of the shell, such that the one or more components of the chassis are securely retained (e.g., permanently affixed) within the at least one recessed area of the shell. Methods of forming the aforementioned footwear system using expandable materials are also disclosed.

Shoe
A shoe that includes a shoe sole having a medial side and a lateral side, a top insole surface for placement of the foot sole and toes thereon and a bottom outsole surface. The shoe sole has a plurality of toe extensions projecting below the toes. Each toe extension is configured to support and retain at least one toe. Preferably there are five toe extensions, one for each toe. A shoe upper overlays the arch region, is attached to the lateral side and the medial side of the shoe sole and extends toward the toes. The upper is joined to the insole of each toe extension to partially encircle the toe(s) supported and retained on such toe extension, and leaving at least the front region of all the toes exposed.

ORTHOTIC POSITIONING APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
An orthotic positioning apparatus includes a shoe having an interior and an exterior upper. The exterior upper includes a perimeter edge defining an elongate opening extending between a toe box and a foot opening. An insole is removably disposed within the interior and includes a toe area having multiple resilient toe separator elements projecting upwardly from a top surface of the insole along an arc. When the insole is disposed in the interior of the shoe, the resilient toe separator elements are positioned in the toe box and configured to separate adjacent toes of a user. A top edge of a cover is pivotally coupled to the toe box and configured to cover the elongate opening. The cover selectively pivots upwardly such that the elongate opening exposes the resilient toe separator elements.
