A chassis part for connecting upper part and a sole part of an article of footwear with a flange structure, a sole part and an article of footwear comprising a chassis part and a method for joining an upper and sole are disclosed. The chassis part comprises a base portion and a flange portion at the periphery of the chassis part. The base portion is arranged on a lower level than the flange portion and provides at least one cavity on the upper side of the chassis part and at least one downward extending portion on the underside of the chassis part. The at least one cavity is arranged to accommodate filler material, the at least one downward extending portion is arranged for engagement with the sole part, and the flange portion is arranged for joining to a flange portion of the upper part.

A separable footwear article may comprise an outsole oriented at the bottom of the footwear and configured for ground contact, the outsole comprising a first material; an upper portion releasably coupled to the outsole with thread using chain stitching, the upper portion comprising a second material different from the first material; and an insole removeably disposed adjacent the upper portion and the outsole, the insole comprising a third material different from the first material and the second material; wherein the outsole, the upper portion, and insole are capable of being separated by releasing the thread and hand pulling the thread from the footwear article.

The invention relates to a shoe (10), in particular a safety shoe, having a sole (12), an upper material (14) and a rand (16), the rand (16) being adhesively bonded to the sole (12), and the rand (16) having an edge (18) which faces the upper material (14). According to the invention, rivets (20) are inserted along the edge (18) of the rand (16), said rivets penetrating the rand (16) and the upper material (14).

An article of footwear includes an upper and a strobel stitched to the upper at a series of stitches disposed in stitch holes that extend through the strobel. The strobel and the upper define a foot-receiving cavity with an inner surface of the strobel disposed at the foot-receiving cavity. A midsole is secured to the upper and an outer surface of the strobel is disposed at the midsole. The stitch holes are obstructed such that the stitch holes are not exposed to both the midsole and the foot-receiving cavity. Accordingly, when a flowable polymeric material is injected in a mold cavity to form the midsole with the lower portion of the upper and the strobel in the mold cavity, the stitch holes will not provide a path for entry of the flowable polymeric material into the foot-receiving cavity. An item of footwear including an outsole secured to an upper is provided. A bootie is attached to the infill panel. The bootie and infill panel combine to form a cavity receiving the wearer's foot. The bootie is provided by a single air permeable, moisture vapor permeable, and waterproof sheet formed from a plurality of layers of material laminated together. The sheet forms at least one edge portion extending, at least one time, a distance between a toe end and a heel end of the bootie. A protection strip is attached to the outer surface of the sheet adjacent the at least one edge portion. A stitching seam is formed by a thread-type material securing the at least one edge portion of the bootie adjacent an outer peripheral edge portion of the infill panel. The thread-type material extends through the protection strip and the infill panel to form the seam.

A shoe structure includes an upper, an insole, a welt, a welt stitch, a sole, a sole stitch, and a cover strip. The upper has a bottom periphery with inner and outer sides, by which the insole and the welt are located respectively. The upper, the insole and the welt are combinedly stitched by the welt stitch. The sole is located below the insole and the welt, and stitched with the welt by the sole stitch. The cover strip is disposed on a top side of the welt and disposed with at least one stitching thread. The shoe structure can significantly enhance the sense of value to consumers on the condition of only slightly increasing the manufacturing cost, and has the advantages of durability, easy maintenance, aesthetic appearance and low cost.

The sole of a footwear such as slipper having an outsole. The sole is made of a foam material and outsole area of which is partly laid with a fabric material. The fabric is attached to the outsole layer by a plastic which has been heat pressed to the fabric and the foam material. This provides a strong attachment between the fabric-plastic-foam material.
