Composition of a magnesium sulphate-urea compound

The present invention relates to compositions containing at least 80% by weight, especially at least 90% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of at least one magnesium sulfate-urea compound selected from the compound of the formula (I) and mixtures of the compound of the formula (I) with the compound of the formula (II): [MgSO.sub.4.mCO(NH.sub.2).sub.2.nH.sub.2O] (I), [MgSO.sub.4.xCO(NH.sub.2).sub.2.yH.sub.2O] (II), in which m and x are each in the range from 0.9 to 1.1, n is in the range from 1.9 to 2.1 and y is in the range from 2.9 to 3.1, where the compositions, based on the total weight of the composition, contain less than 10% by weight of free MgSO.sub.4 in the form of the anhydrate or in the form of hydrates of magnesium sulfate and less than 10% by weight of unbound urea. The invention also relates to the production of the compositions and to the use thereof as fertilizers or fertilizer additive.

Disclosed is a method for the integrated production of two different urea products. One is an aqueous urea solution suitable for use in NOx abatement (generally indicated as Diesel Exhaust FluidDEF). The other is a solution used as a fertilizer, viz. Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN). The production of DEF and UAN are integrated as follows: ammonia recovered from the production of urea is used as a feed to the production of ammonium nitrate. At least part of an aqueous urea stream from urea prodution, is mixed with ammonium nitrate so as to obtain UAN.

A process for preparation of a granular urea product by granulating a urea solution in a fluidized bed, where the granulation process takes place along a substantially longitudinal growth path, from a granulation starting end (1.sub.S) to a product discharge end (1.sub.E) of said fluidized bed, and said urea solution enters the fluidized bed by means of several urea inputs (2.sub.A, 2.sub.B, 2.sub.C) taken from a main urea feed (2), where an additive (6) is mixed with said urea solution said additive has a non-uniform concentration in said urea inputs, so that at least two of said urea inputs have a different concentration of additive.

Removal of dust in urea finishing

Disclosed is a method for the removal of urea dust from the off-gas of a finishing section of a urea production plant. the method comprises subjecting the off-gas to quenching with water so as to produce quenched off-gas. The quenched off-gas is subjected to humidification by mixing said quenched gas stream with a humidification fluid selected from (a) saturated steam and (b) superheated steam mixed with a second aqueous stream, so as to produce a humidified gas stream, subjecting said humidified gas stream to particle separation (i.e., dust removal) by means of a scrubbing liquid in which at least part of the particles in the gas stream are soluble.
