ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
20230058209 · 2023-02-23 ·

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a midsole and a stabilizing member. The stabilizing member can include a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is positioned along the bottom surface of the midsole. A first sub-portion of the first end portion extends along a first side of the midsole and a second sub-portion of the first end portion extends across the bottom surface from the first side of the midsole to a second side of the midsole. The second portion extends upwardly from the first portion and onto the second side of the midsole to wrap around at least a portion of a periphery of a heel region of the midsole and onto the first side of the midsole.

Sole Structures and Articles of Footwear Having Separate and Separable Outsole and Midsole Components

Footwear and/or sole structures may include any one or more of: (a) a midsole component having one or more relatively large projections that extend into one or more corresponding openings in a midsole component (wherein the free end surface(s) of the large projection(s) may be siped); (b) a midsole component having one or more relatively small protrusions that extend into one or more small corresponding holes in an outsole component; (c) a midsole component having one or more relatively small holes into which one or more small corresponding protrusions on the outsole component extend; (d) a midsole component having medial and/or lateral side ridges (e.g., at least in an arch area) that receive a portion of outermost side edges of a corresponding outsole component; and/or (e) a midsole component having a relatively large central arch recess exposed through an opening in the outsole component.

GOLF SHOE HAVING COMPOSITE PLATE IN MIDSOLE FOR PROVIDING FLEX AND STABILITY
20220361626 · 2022-11-17 · ·

Golf shoes having improved constructions are provided. The golf shoes include upper, midsole, and outsole sections. The upper may be made of a soft, breathable leather material. The midsole includes an upper region formed from a first material such as a foamed ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA); and a lower region formed from a second material such as a foamed ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), wherein the materials have different hardness levels. A fiber-reinforced composite plate such as, for example, a carbon fiber plate is disposed in the midsole. The outsole contains different traction members arranged in a precise geometric structure that helps provide improved stability and traction.

Fluid-filled chamber with stitched tensile member

A chamber for receiving a pressurized fluid may include a tensile member extending between a first chamber barrier layer and a second chamber barrier layer and including a plurality of tethers extending between the first tensile member layer and the second tensile member layer. The chamber may include stitching through the tensile member in a stitched region. When the chamber is pressurized with the pressurized fluid, a substantial majority of the first tensile member layer is separated from the second tensile member layer by a distance that corresponds to a length of the plurality of tethers. In addition, the first tensile member layer is held in contact with the second tensile member layer by the stitching in the stitched region, thereby forming an area of the chamber having a reduced thickness relative to adjacent portions of the chamber.

Footwear with sole structure incorporating lobed fluid-filled chamber with protruding end wall portions

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a fluid-filled chamber component having a central portion, a plurality of lobes extending outward from the central portion, and a plurality of channels formed between the plurality of lobes. The structure also includes a midsole component inter-fitted with the plurality of lobes of the fluid-filled chamber component and having a plurality of projections extending through the plurality of channels of the fluid-filled chamber component. The midsole component forms a portion of the peripheral side surface of the sole structure. At least a first lobe of the plurality of lobes has an exposed distal end wall and includes a projecting portion that extends further outward from the central portion of the fluid-filled chamber component than the portion of the peripheral side surface of the sole structure formed by the midsole component. The exposed distal end wall also includes a faceted surface.

ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH SOIL-SHEDDING PERFORMANCE

The disclosure relates to articles of footwear (100) and components thereof, including outsoles (112), which can be used in conditions normally conducive to the accumulation of soil on the outsoles (112). In particular, the disclosure relates to articles of footwear (100) and components thereof including an outsole (112) with a material (116) including a polymeric network formed of a plurality of polymer chains, where the material (116) defines external ground-facing surface or side of the outsole (112). The outsoles (112) can prevent or reduce the accumulation of soil on the footwear (100) during wear on unpaved surfaces such as sporting fields.

Particulate Foam With Other Cushioning

An article of footwear has an upper, an outsole attached to the upper, and a midsole. The outsole includes a ground-engaging surface and an inner surface disposed on opposite sides. The midsole has a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on opposite sides. The bottom surface opposes the inner surface to define a cavity therebetween. The article of footwear also includes a first series of projections extending into the cavity from one of the inner surface and the bottom surface in a first direction toward the other of the inner surface and the bottom surface. The article of footwear also includes a second series of projection extending into the cavity from one of the inner surface and the bottom surface in the first direction toward the other of the inner surface and the bottom surface. The article of footwear also includes a quantity of particulate matter disposed within the cavity.

DUAL-LAYERED MIDSOLE

A dual-layered midsole for footwear includes an internal midsole layer and an external midsole layer, which are coupled to and separated by a Strobel board. The internal midsole layer may compress and expand with the movement of a wearer of an article of footwear including the dual-layered midsole, while the external midsole may provide stability and cushion for the wearer. Materials selected for the internal and external midsole layers may provide tuned viscoelastic properties to different areas of the midsole as a function of midsole layer thickness at each sole area.

Bimodal heel counter and dependent fastening elements for rapid entry and release footwear devices
11571037 · 2023-02-07 ·

A bimodal heel counter apt for a rapid entry and release footwear devices, that includes a flexible hollow hemisphere portion, a heel tab, a secondary heel tab, a back sole base, an anchor system, and dependent fastening elements. The bimodal heel counter and dependent fastening systems are biased to one of two stable positions, which elastically morphs by stored potential energy with applied force from one position to the other, configured to collectively snap a footwear device between an open and closed position, for donning and doffing, or securing the foot as to enable active footwear use.

SHOE SOLE

A shoe sole that is less likely to feel push-up on the sole at the time of landing and suppresses pronation to enable quick weight movement in running or jogging, while being widely available in sports requiring weight movement such as golf, tennis, basketball, soccer, and skateboarding, as well as that is lightweight, has good wearing comfort and provides stable walking even in using on the street or walking. The shoe sole includes a shoe sole main body made of a flexible material, and a plate made of a material having a flexural modulus higher than a flexural modulus of the flexible material constituting the shoe sole main body, in which at least two of the plates are included in the shoe sole main body.
