Biogas sampling apparatus

There is provided a biogas flux chamber constructed in one embodiment from a metal can with an open bottom and an epoxy interior coating. The chamber is inserted into the soil to allow influx of soil gases. The lid includes a sampling septum and a vent tube to prevent pressure build-up when the lid is in place which allows for an increase in interior gas concentrations. The rubber sampling septum is installed in a hole in the lid. The vent tube is constructed using flexible copper tubing inserted through the lid and secured using a bulkhead-fitting, and rubber O-ring to seal the insertion hole. The copper tubing is bent to form a double-curved ‘C’ shape which positions the open ends of the tube above and below the lid surfaces.

Animal sorting device

An animal sorting device comprising a housing having an entrance, an exit, and an animal dispatch chamber. The animal dispatch chamber comprises entrant assessment means to determine if an entrant is either a pest or a non-pest, animal dispatching means to dispatch the pest, and means to urge either a dispatched pest towards an aperture or the non-pest towards the exit. A modular animal sorting device is also disclosed.

Electronic rodent trap with remote monitoring capability

An electronic rodent trap and monitoring method is provided. Each trap has at least one entrance, and preferably two entrances in opposed relationship to create a longitudinal tunnel, with a pair of lower plates extending longitudinally and oriented in spaced substantially parallel relationship, and a triggering element, such as a third plate, positioned above the lower plates, and preferably adjacent the ceiling of the trap on a center baffle that also shields a bait cup. The trap is activated when the rodent, with its left and right feet on the parallel lower plates, which are preferably raised above the floor, contacts the triggering element on the center baffle. The trap is preferably modular in design with an electronics module and a tunnel module removably secured within and protected by an outer housing. The trap also has improved features for more accurate remote monitoring of rodent dispatch and kill verification.

Electromechanical trap for small animals

An electromechanical trap for small animals having a container attached to a module whose upper side is a swing frame which includes a solar panel. The module includes a tunnel with an open end and an access to let the animals to be caught enter and the floor includes a first fixed part, a second part, which has a missing section which coincides with the cutting on the module floor and a third fixed part where there is an appropriate vessel for the bait. First part and missing section of the second part have a tilting lamina as of at least an axis connected to the side ends of the tunnel. The tunnel has several sensors which generate a beam whose interruption sends a signal captured by the microprocessor enabling a single exit, energizing the coil which, during a programmed time equals the polarity of the permanent magnet freeing the lamina whose end, as the result of the animal weight, goes violently down tilting over the axis and lifting the opposite end in an equal or higher angle of 45 degrees.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING PEST ANIMALS
