20210076664 · 2021-03-18 ·

A bait station having an enclosed housing defining an internal volume is disclosed, wherein the internal volume is divided by a partition wall defining a main chamber and an electronics compartment. The electronics compartment has a wireless communication module including a computer processor and transceiver. The main chamber has a single access for a targeted type of pest and a bait access door. A bait platform is located within the main chamber, and a bait monitoring sensor is also located within the main chamber. The bait monitoring sensor is communicatively coupled with the wireless communication module.

Sensing of objects

A sensor for detecting changes in fringe capacitance responsive to at least one of a target animal and a target pest by mutual capacitance sensing may include a plurality of conductors including an electrically conductive sensor conductor, which is a transmit electrode, and two electrically conductive un-grounded conductors, which are each a receive electrode, disposed on opposing sides of the sensor conductor defining a triplet. The plurality of conductors may be supported on an un-grounded conductive substrate which is electrically isolated, via an electrical insulator, from the plurality of conductors. Each conductor of the plurality of conductors may have a width and a thickness, and may be disposed spaced apart from the other conductors of the plurality of conductors and the un-grounded conductive substrate by a distance such that a directional fringe field responsive to the at least one of the target animal and the target pest is generatable.

Imaging array for bird or bat detection and identification

An automated system for mitigating risk from a wind farm. The automated system may include an array of a plurality of image capturing devices independently mounted in a wind farm. The array may include a plurality of low resolution cameras and at least one high resolution camera. The plurality of low resolution cameras may be interconnected and may detect a spherical field surrounding the wind farm. A server is in communication with the array of image capturing devices. The server may automatically analyze images to classify an airborne object captured by the array of image capturing devices in response to receiving the images.

Self-Arming Electronic Rodent Trap and System and Method For Use Thereof
20210068386 · 2021-03-11 · ·

A rodent trap having a remote arming capability and a method of deploying a rodent trap in an unarmed state and then arming the trap after a wait period without the user having to again physically access the trap is provided. The trap, preferably embodied as an electronic rodent trap, may be configured with wireless remote arming capability, timed arming functionality, activity based arming and the like. When in the unarmed state, the trap operates in a monitoring mode in which the trap can monitor and evaluate activity and/or interactions with the trap and can send and receive wireless communication signals.

Telltail rodent trap
10925276 · 2021-02-23 ·

Telltale rodent trap for trapping rodents in interior walls, ceilings and similar spaces including a baited and set spring-loaded trap attached to a base plate passing through a wall or ceiling opening to be exposed to interior spaces frequented by rodents. A cover plate having a telltale aperture fits over the opening. An elongated telltale is attached at one end to a trap arm pivoting between a first position when the trap is set and a second position when the trap is sprung. The other end of the elongated telltale is inserted between the cover and base plates and is visible in the telltale aperture of the cover plate. When the trap is sprung, the trap arm pulls the elongated telltale so it is no longer visible in the telltale aperture indicating that a rodent has been trapped and the trap assembly should be removed and reset.

System and Method for Detecting Bird and Bat Casualties Near Wind Turbines
20210054827 · 2021-02-25 ·

A system of detecting avian casualties includes an imaging capture device mounted on a nacelle or tower of a wind turbine. The thermal imaging device has a field of view, and the thermal imaging device is connected to a computing system configured to determine the number of avian casualties caused by the plurality of blades or by collision with any part of the turbine.

VERMIN TRAP
20210076663 · 2021-03-18 ·

Conventional mouse traps include a spring biased arm temporarily held open by a hold down bar, which is dislodged when a mouse releases a catch. Accordingly, a more robust vermin trap comprises: a housing; a catcher pivotally mounted on the housing, configured to be held in a set position and forced into a sprung position for trapping the vermin, and a latch. The latch comprising: an actuator, and a latching lever spring biased into the sprung position, and configured to be rotated closed in the set position. A striker mechanism is connected to the catcher for engaging the latching lever in the set position and disengaged from the latching lever in the sprung position, for moving the catcher from the set position to the sprung position. A trigger activates the actuator, thereby releasing the latching lever, and disengaging the striker mechanism from the latch, enabling the catcher to move to the sprung position to trap the vermin.

Intelligent Control System for Deterring Problem Animals
20210084888 · 2021-03-25 ·

A self-contained, weatherproof control system containing logic that when connected to a video camera and loudspeaker, is a method for selective deterrence of problem individuals or populations of specific species of wildlife. Control system uses circuitry that interacts with video capture technology and extracts frames of video, then processed by object recognition software, powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, which provides the ability to disregard any wildlife not considered nuisance and recognize and deter those animals that are considered a pest or a nuisance by way of a pre-configured action.

Remote monitor for wild animal trap

A remote monitor for wild animal trap, including a receiving monitoring host, a transmitting apparatus and a magnetic-sensitive switch. The host includes a VHF/VHF receiving module, LED state indicator lamps for indicating trap states and a first single chip microcomputer for processing signals, which are electrically connected. Each host can be connected with more than one transmitting apparatus through a wireless communication technology. The transmitting apparatus includes a VHF/UHF transmitting module, electric quantity indicator lamps and a second single chip microcomputer for processing signals.

Floatable Mount for a Hunting Camera
20210041771 · 2021-02-11 ·

A floatable mount for a hunting camera provides an apparatus that enables protection of a camera for the duration of the camera's placement outside. The apparatus further protects the camera from damage due to rising water levels. The apparatus has a telescopic pole, allowing the user to extend a camera and place it in a higher, more advantageous position. The apparatus may be placed and secured onto the ground through the use of a foot pressure platform and a corkscrew or straight anchor. The apparatus also employs a flotation device that can keep the camera afloat safely above the water level when flooding occurs, or when the apparatus is placed into a body of water. The combination of these features allows the user to mount their camera safely, without having to worry about the camera falling into, or otherwise becoming damaged from, rising water levels.
