The invention provides human plasma-derived immunoglobulin compositions comprising low levels of thrombogenic agents and of IgG aggregates. The invention further provides methods for removing the active coagulation factors and IgG aggregates content of a plasma-derived immunoglobulin composition.

Anti-varicella-zoster virus antibody, immunological measurement method, and immunological measurement device

An object of the present invention is to provide a means for rapidly diagnosing infection with VZV. The present invention relates to an antibody against VZVgE or an antibody fragment thereof, and an immunological measurement method and an immunological measurement device using the antibody or the antibody fragment thereof, etc.

EPSTEIN-BARR VIRUS MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES AND USES THEREOF

Monoclonal antibodies that specifically bind gp42 of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) are described. The antibodies are capable of blocking fusion of EBV-infected cells and neutralizing EBV infection. Use of the EBV-specific monoclonal antibodies, and conjugates thereof, for the treatment and prophylaxis of EBV infection is also described.

Porcine circovirus type 3 immunogenic compositions and methods of making and using the same

A new species of circovirus, porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3), was identified from sows with clinical symptoms normally associated with porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) infection and in aborted fetuses. Molecular and serological analyses suggest PCV3 commonly circulates in U.S. swine. The present disclosure provides immunological compositions and methods related to the production and administration of such compositions.

Antibodies and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis b virus infection

Antibodies and compositions of matter useful for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis B Virus infection in mammals, and to methods of using those compositions of matter for the same.

Bi-functional anti-tau polypeptides and use thereof

Disclosed herein are multifunctional polypeptides comprising a first domain comprising an anti-tau antigen binding domain and a second domain comprising a proteasome-targeting PEST motif, and methods for using these polypeptides in treatment of tauopathies.

According to some embodiments, a carrier for reducing a likelihood of a pathogen binding to cell structures of a host comprises a core, surface features extending from an exterior surface of the core, wherein the surface features are configured to bind to target areas of cell structures of the host to at least partially block the pathogen from binding to said target areas as a result of competitive inhibition, and a plurality of binding sites along the exterior surface, wherein the binding sites are configured to attract at least one portion of the pathogen, wherein the binding sites are recognizable by the pathogen and are able to be bound by the pathogen, thereby at least partially immobilizing the pathogen and reducing the likelihood of the pathogen binding to target areas of cell structures of the host.

The present invention is directed to diabody molecules and uses thereof in the treatment of a variety of diseases and disorders, including immunological disorders, infectious disease, intoxication and cancers. The diabody molecules of the invention comprise two polypeptide chains that associate to form at least two epitope binding sites, which may recognize the same or different epitopes on the same or differing antigens. Additionally, the antigens may be from the same or different molecules. The individual polypeptide chains of the diabody molecule may be covalently bound through non-peptide bond covalent bonds, such as, but not limited to, disulfide bonding of cysteine residues located within each polypeptide chain. In particular embodiments, the diabody molecules of the present invention further comprise an Fc region, which allows antibody-like functionality to engineered into the molecule.
