Motorized shoe with gesture control
An article of footwear includes a motorized tensioning system, sensors, and a gesture control system. Based on information received from one or more sensors the gesture control system may detect a prompting gesture and enters an armed mode for receiving further instructions. In the armed mode the system may detect a variety of different control gestures that correspond to different tensioning commands.
WIRELESS CHARGING SYSTEM WITH MULTI-COIL SCANNING AND LEARNING
A system, recharge apparatus, and method includes transmit coils positioned in a pattern to allow at least one of the transmit coils to establish a wireless link with a receive coil positioned in proximity of the recharge apparatus. A power source is coupled to the transmit coils and configured to selectively energize ones of the transmit coils to transfer power to the receive coil. An energy efficiency detection circuit is configured to detect an electrical response of each one of the transmit coils when energized by the power source, the electrical response indicative of an energy efficiency between the one of the transmit coils and the receive coil. The power source selectively energizes ones of the transmit coils, selected according to a statistical analysis of an historical record and the electrical response indicative of the energy efficiency meeting a minimum efficiency criterion for energy transfer to the receive coil.
Foot presence signal processing systems and methods
A foot presence sensor system for an active article of footwear can include a sensor housing configured to be disposed at or in an insole of the article, and a controller circuit, disposed within the sensor housing, configured to trigger one or more automated functions of the footwear based on a foot presence indication. In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive or magnetic sensor configured to sense changes in a body's proximity to the sensor in footwear. Characteristics of the sensed proximity can be used to update an automated footwear function, such as an automatic lacing function, or can be used to determine a step count, foot strike force, a rate of travel, or other information about a foot or about the footwear.
Box lacing channel for automated footwear platform
A footwear lacing apparatus can comprise a housing structure, a spool and a drive mechanism. The housing structure can comprise a first inlet, a second inlet, and a lacing channel extending between the first and second inlets. The lacing channel can comprise a spool receptacle located between the first and second inlets, a first relief area located between the spool receptacle and the first inlet, and a second relief area located between the spool receptacle and the second inlet. The first and second relief areas can be linearly tapered between the spool receptacle and the first and second inlets, respectively. The spool can be disposed in the spool receptacle of the lacing channel. The drive mechanism can be coupled with the spool and adapted to rotate the spool to wind or unwind a lace cable extending through the lacing channel and through the spool.
Sensor for an article of footwear
An article of footwear or an article of apparel can include provisions for facilitating the use of a sensor device and protecting the sensor device from external particles or fluid. The sensor device can include a conduit for moving air through the sensor device from one portion of the sensor device to another portion of the sensor device. An elastic membrane can be attached to an opening formed in the sensor device. The elastic membrane can deform in response to changes in air pressure within the sensor device.
Rope Adjusting Device and Article Having Rope Adjusting Device
A rope adjusting device, including an adjusting piece, a mounting base, and a rope winder configured to wind a rope. The adjusting piece is rotatably connected to the mounting base. The adjusting piece includes a driving portion and a linking portion which are fixed with respect to each other and coaxially provided. A rotation limiting portion corresponding to the linking portion and configured to limit the rotating direction of the linking portion is provided on the mounting base. The rope winder is rotatably connected to the mounting base. A driven portion in transmission connection with the driving portion is provided on the rope winder. The rotating axis of the driving portion and the rotating axis of the driven portion are collinear. Also provided is an article having the rope adjusting device.
Automated footwear platform having upper elastic tensioner
A footwear assembly can comprise, an upper, a lace cable, a plurality of lace guides and a tensioner. The tensioner can comprise an elastic member extending between two lace guides of the plurality of lace guides, an elastic member extending between first and second portions of the upper, an elastic member extending between a portion of the upper and a lace guide of the plurality of lace guides, a heel channel connected to a heel portion of the upper and configured to facilitate access to an interior space, an elastic member coupled to the footwear assembly that functions to smooth out a torque versus lace displacement curve during tightening of the lace cable.
Foot presence signal processing using velocity
A foot presence sensor system for an active article of footwear can include a sensor housing configured to be disposed at or in an insole of the article, and a controller circuit, disposed within the sensor housing, configured to trigger one or more automated functions of the footwear based on a foot presence indication. In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive sensor, and the sensor is configured to sense changes in a foot proximity to the sensor in footwear. Information about the sensed proximity can be used to determine a foot velocity characteristic, which in turn can be used to update an automated footwear function, such as an automatic lacing function, or can be used to determine a step count, foot strike force, a rate of travel, or other information about a foot, about an activity, or about the footwear.
Fastening device
A fastening device including a case unit and a spool is provided. The case unit includes a wall forming a receiving space, an upper opening communicated with the receiving space, and a lower opening opposite to the upper opening and communicated with the receiving space. The spool is within the receiving space. The spool is limited by the wall, and the wall prohibits the spool from leaving the receiving space from the upper opening.
Pulley for a wearable article
A pulley for a wearable article includes a frame defining an aperture and a slot spaced apart from the aperture. A pulley wheel is disposed exterior to the frame, and a hub extends from the pulley wheel through the aperture. The hub engages the frame in a locked position, and is disengaged from the frame in an unlocked position. The hub is further from the slot in the locked than in the unlocked position. The hub and the pulley wheel are rotatable relative to the frame in the locked position. In another pulley, a frame defines an internal void and a slot extending through the frame and spaced apart from the internal void. A pulley wheel disposed exterior to the frame is spaced apart from the slot. A plurality of legs extends from the pulley wheel and is locked to the frame. The frame may include an anchor bar.
