Methods For Preparation Of Functionalized Polymers
Disclosed herein are phosphino- and phosphate-silane functionalized polymers, methods of preparing a reactive polymer functionalized with an alkoxysilane having a phosphorous-containing group as a functionalizing reagent, the resulting polymer and vulcanizates thereof. The vulcanizates of the functionalized polymers can be used to produce vulcanized products, including tires.
1,3-DIPOLAR COMPOUND BEARING A PHOSPHORUS-CONTAINING GROUP AND A DIPOLE CONTAINING A NITROGEN ATOM
A 1,3-dipolar compound bearing at least a phosphorus-containing group and a dipole containing a nitrogen atom is provided. A method for grafting the 1,3-dipolar compound on an unsaturated polymer, a diene polymer comprising, along the polymer chain, at least one pendant phosphorus-containing group, and a rubber composition based on a diene elastomer and the 1,3-dipolar compound optionally pre-grafted on the diene elastomer are also provided. The 1,3-dipolar compound allows access to rubber compositions reinforced with an inorganic filler that have a compromise of improved properties, namely hysteresis, stiffness in the cured state and reinforcement.

FLAME-RETARDANT CROSS-LINKED EPDM RUBBER
In an example, a process includes polymerizing a mixture that includes an ethylene monomer, a propylene monomer, and a diene monomer to form an ethylene-propylene-diene (EPDM) terpolymer using ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). The process further includes chemically reacting the EPDM terpolymer with a norbornene-based phosphinate cross-linking material to form a flame-retardant, cross-linked EPDM rubber.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIENE POLYMERS BEARING PHOSPHORUS FUNCTIONAL GROUPS, PRODUCTS RESULTING FROM SAID METHOD AND COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME
The invention relates to a method for the synthesis of a novel diene polymer with a high content of phosphorus-based functions by radical grafting of a polyphosphorus-based polymer bearing a chain-end thiol function onto a diene polymer according to the following steps: a) bringing together, with stirring, at least one diene polymer in solution and at least one polyphosphorus-based polymer bearing a chain-end thiol function in solution, b) heating the homogeneous reaction mixture obtained in the previous step to the grafting reaction temperature, and c) adding the radical initiator concomitantly with either of steps a) and b) or once the grafting reaction temperature has been reached.
