Provided herein is technology relating to polymerization and producing polymers and particularly, but not exclusively, to methods, systems, and compositions for producing articles using three-dimensional printing and for improving control of polymerization using a polymerization photoinhibitor having fast back reaction kinetics such as hexaarylbiimidazole compounds and bridged hexaarylbiimidazole compounds.

IODINE TRANSFER POLYMERIZATION METHOD AND COMPOSITIONS THEREFROM

Iodine transfer radical polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising (meth)acrylic acid, salt thereof, or combination thereof, in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator, an organoiodide, and a solvent, is a useful method for making (meth)acrylic acid polymers. The amounts of components utilized can be 2 to 100 equivalents of acrylic acid and 2 to 100 equivalents of sodium acrylate, both dissolved in water to form a 15 to 50 weight percent solution, based on the total weight of the acrylic acid, sodium acrylate, and water; 0.05 to 1 equivalent of an azo polymerization initiator, 1 equivalent of an organoiodide; and 0 to 3 equivalents of an iodide salt. (Meth)acrylic acid polymer solutions are made by these methods. The (meth)acrylic polymers are useful as dispersants.

Polyurethane-silica composite-based coating composition, polyurethane-silica composite film, and method of preparing the same

Disclosed is a coating composition which includes: polyurethane; and amphiphilic silica nanoparticles having an amine functional group and a fluorine functional group in their structure. Further provided are a polyurethane-silica composite film including the coating composition and a method of preparing the same.

Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition which includes: a first graft copolymer including a C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alkyl (meth)acrylate-based monomer unit, a C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkyl-substituted styrene-based monomer unit, and a vinyl cyan-based monomer unit; a second graft copolymer including a C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alkyl (meth)acrylate-based monomer unit, an alkyl-unsubstituted styrene-based monomer unit, and a vinyl cyan-based monomer unit; a first styrene-based copolymer including a C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkyl-substituted styrene-based monomer unit and a vinyl cyan-based monomer unit; a second styrene-based copolymer including an alkyl-unsubstituted styrene-based monomer unit and a vinyl cyan-based monomer unit; and an olefin-based copolymer including a C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkyl (meth)acrylate-based monomer unit. The thermoplastic resin composition exhibits remarkably excellent chemical resistance and remarkably excellent appearance characteristics while maintaining basic properties.

POSS MODIFIED POLYACRYLATE FLUORIDE-FREE WATERPROOF AGENT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

A POSS modified polyacrylate fluorine-free waterproofing agent includes following components: 1-10 wt % of a functionalized POSS monomer, 2-20 wt % of methyl methacrylate, 3-26 wt % of butyl acrylate, 1-10 wt % of a long-chain acrylate monomer, 0.5-3.5 wt % of an initiator, 0.5-4 wt % of a reactive cationic emulsifier, and 50-80 wt % of deionized water. A method of preparing a POSS modified polyacrylate fluorine-free waterproofing agent is also disclosed.

Water-absorbent resin and absorbent article

A water-absorbent resin that exhibits a high liquid-retention capacity under a load and a small amount of re-wet, even when it is used in an absorbent material having a low proportion of hydrophilic fibers. The water-absorbent resin includes a polymer of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein when a cross-sectional image of the water-absorbent resin is observed using X-ray computed tomography, the water-absorbent resin has cavity area percentage in the cross-sectional image of 10% or less.
