COVALENT ORGANIC FRAMEWORK NANOPOROUS MATERIALS FOR HIGH PRESSURE GAS STORAGE
A method of storing gas comprises providing a recipient for receiving the gas and providing a porous gas storage material. The gas storage material comprises a cross-linked polymeric framework and a plurality of pores for gas sorption. The cross-linked polymeric framework comprises aromatic ring-containing monomeric units comprising at least two aromatic rings. The aromatic ring-containing monomeric units are linked by covalent cross-linking between aromatic rings to form a stable, rigid nanoporous material for storing the gas at pressures significantly greater than the atmospheric pressure, for example in excess of 100 bar. A possible application is the storage and transportation of compressed natural gas.

STABLE MASS POLYMERIZABLE POLYCYCLOOLEFIN COMPOSITIONS AS 3D PRINTING MATERIALS AND A METHOD OF FABRICATION THEREOF
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions encompassing a latent organo-ruthenium compound, a pyridine compound, a photosensitizer and an ultra violet light blocking compound along with one or more monomers which undergo ring open metathesis polymerization (ROMP) when said composition is exposed to suitable actinic radiation to form a substantially transparent film or a three dimensional object. Surprisingly, the compositions are very stable at ambient conditions to temperatures up to 80° C. for several days and undergo mass polymerization only when subjected to actinic radiation under inert atmosphere such as for example a blanket of nitrogen. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful in various opto-electronic applications, including as 3D printing materials, coatings, encapsulants, fillers, leveling agents, among others.
Stabilized UV active organopalladium compounds as vinyl addition catalysts
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions comprising a long shelf stabilized organopalladium compound of formula (I) as described herein. The composition further contains a photoacid generator, a photosensitizer and one or more olefinic monomers as described herein. The shelf life of the compositions can further be extended by employing a stabilizer, such as for example, a hindered amine. The composition undergoes vinyl addition polymerization when it is exposed to a suitable actinic radiation to form a substantially transparent film or a three dimensional object. More specifically, the compositions of this invention are stable at room temperature for several days to several months and can also be stored at higher temperatures from about 40° C. to 60° C. for several days and undergo mass polymerization only when subjected to suitable actinic radiation. The monomers employed therein have a range of optical and mechanical properties, and thus these compositions can be tailored to form films and/or three dimensional objects having various opto-electronic properties. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful in various applications, including as coatings, encapsulants, fillers, leveling agents, sealants, adhesives, among others.
Polymerizable composition and method of production of resin shaped article
A polymerizable composition comprised of a mixture of a norbornene-based monomer and a metathesis polymerization catalyst which is solidified by cooling is provided. Preferably, the norbornene-based monomer has a freezing point of 20° C. or more, more preferably the metathesis polymerization catalyst is a ruthenium-carbene complex. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a polymerizable composition which is excellent in storage stability and which enables industrial production of small resin shaped articles which are excellent in stability of quality.
