Provided are a break-resistant copolymer having high transparency and heat resistance and also having a high tensile strain at break, and a molded article. A copolymer contains 80% by mass to 98% by mass of structural units derived from a methacrylic ester monomer and 2% to 10% by mass of ester structural units derived from a cyclic ketene acetal monomer. The copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 80,000 or more and a molecular weight distribution of 1.75 to 3.80.

A copolymer contains 80% by mass to 98% by mass of structural units derived from a methacrylic ester monomer and 2% to 10% by mass of ester structural units derived from a cyclic ketene acetal monomer. The copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 80,000 or more and a molecular weight distribution of 1.75 to 3.80.

The membrane electrode assembly of the present invention is a membrane electrode assembly comprising an anode having a catalyst layer containing a proton-conductive polymer, a cathode having a catalyst layer containing a proton-conductive polymer, and a polymer electrolyte membrane disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein the proton-conductive polymer contained in the catalyst layer of at least one of the anode and the cathode is a polymer (H) having units containing a cyclic ether structure and sulfonic acid-type functional groups, and the polymer electrolyte membrane contains a porous material containing a fluorinated polymer, and a fluorinated polymer (S) having sulfonic acid-type functional groups.
