HARD COATING COMPOSITION AND HARD COATING FILM USING THE SAME
The present invention provides a hard coating composition comprising: silicone rubber fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 1 μm, a dendrimer compound having a (meth)acrylate terminal group, a polyfunctional urethane (meth)acrylate having a cyclohexyl group, a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate having an ethylene glycol group, a photoinitiator and a solvent; a hard coating film formed using the same; and an image display device having the hard coating film. The hard coating film according to the present invention not only has high impact resistance and excellent hardness and flexibility, but also is excellent in adhesion, curl and crack properties.
HARD COATING COMPOSITION AND HARD COATING FILM USING THE SAME
The present invention provides a hard coating composition comprising: silicone rubber fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 1 μm, a dendrimer compound having a (meth)acrylate terminal group, a polyfunctional urethane (meth)acrylate having a cyclohexyl group, a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate having an ethylene glycol group, a photoinitiator and a solvent; a hard coating film formed using the same; and an image display device having the hard coating film. The hard coating film according to the present invention not only has high impact resistance and excellent hardness and flexibility, but also is excellent in adhesion, curl and crack properties.
Waterproof silane-end capped adhesive compositions
A polymeric matrix adhesive composition and methods of preparing said compositions. A silane is added to a prepolymer urethane to react with the urethane and at least partially end-cap the urethane to produce a silane end-capped polymer component. A reinforcing extender and a thixotropic agent are reacted with the silane end-capped polymer component. The cured product of the polymeric matrix adhesive composition is waterproof, hydrolytically stable, and pH resistant.
CURABLE POLYMERS COMPRISING SILSESQUIOXANE POLYMER CORE SILSESQUIOXANE POLYMER OUTER LAYER, AND REACTIVE GROUPS
Curable silsesquioxane polymers are described comprising a core comprising a first silsesquioxane polymer and an outer layer comprising a second silsesquioxane polymer bonded to the core. The silsesquioxane polymer of the core, outer layer, or combination thereof comprises reactive groups that are not ethylenically unsaturated groups. The first silsesquioxane polymer of the core is bonded to the second silsesquioxane polymer of the outer layer via silicon atoms bonded to three oxygen atoms. In some embodiments, the outer layer has a higher concentration of reactive groups than the core. In this embodiment, the core may be substantially free of reactive groups. In other embodiments, the core has a higher concentration of reactive groups than the core. In this embodiment, the outer layer may be substantially free of reactive groups. The core and outer layer each comprise a three-dimensional branched network of a different silsesquioxane polymer. The silsesquioxane polymers of the core and outer layer may be homopolymers or copolymers. Also described are methods of preparing curable silsesquioxane polymer comprising a core and outer layer bonded to the core, articles comprising curable or cured compositions comprising the silsesquioxane core/outer layer polymers, and methods of curing.
FILM-FORMING COMPOSITION AND COSMETIC
A film-forming composition containing a polymer obtained by polymerizing (A) 5 to 80 mass % of a silicone resin having an R.sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit, an R.sub.2R′SiO.sub.1/2 unit, and an SiO.sub.2 unit, where R may be the same or different and represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and R′ represents a —C.sub.3H.sub.6SH group, wherein a total amount of the R.sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit, R.sub.2R′SiO.sub.1/2 unit, and SiO.sub.2 unit is 80 mol % or more with respect to all structural units, and a mole ratio expressed by (sum of R.sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit and R.sub.2R′SiO.sub.1/2 unit)/(SiO.sub.2 unit) ranges from 0.5 to 1.5 and (B) 20 to 95 mass % of one or more radically polymerizable compounds, wherein component (B) includes (B-1) one or more radically polymerizable monomers having no SiO unit in a structure thereof. This composition is capable of forming a transparent film that is excellent in adhesiveness without exhibiting stickiness and secondary adhesion.
FILM-FORMING COMPOSITION AND COSMETIC
A film-forming composition containing a polymer obtained by polymerizing (A) 5 to 80 mass % of a silicone resin having an R.sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit, an R.sub.2R′SiO.sub.1/2 unit, and an SiO.sub.2 unit, where R may be the same or different and represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and R′ represents a —C.sub.3H.sub.6SH group, wherein a total amount of the R.sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit, R.sub.2R′SiO.sub.1/2 unit, and SiO.sub.2 unit is 80 mol % or more with respect to all structural units, and a mole ratio expressed by (sum of R.sub.3SiO.sub.1/2 unit and R.sub.2R′SiO.sub.1/2 unit)/(SiO.sub.2 unit) ranges from 0.5 to 1.5 and (B) 20 to 95 mass % of one or more radically polymerizable compounds, wherein component (B) includes (B-1) one or more radically polymerizable monomers having no SiO unit in a structure thereof. This composition is capable of forming a transparent film that is excellent in adhesiveness without exhibiting stickiness and secondary adhesion.
UV/VISIBLE-ABSORBING VINYLIC MONOMERS AND USES THEREOF
Described herein are UV-absorbing vinylic monomers and their uses in preparing UV-absorbing contact lenses capable of blocking ultra-violet (“UV”) radiation and violet radiation with wavelengths from 380 nm to 440 nm, thereby protecting eyes to some extent from damages caused by UV radiation and potentially from violet radiation.

Various embodiments disclosed related to UV-curable silicone composition, cured products thereof, and methods of using the same. Various embodiments provide a shear-thinning UV-curable silicone composition. The composition can include (A) a mercapto-functional polyorganosiloxane having the unit formula [(CH.sub.3).sub.3SiO.sub.1/2].sub.x[(CH.sub.3).sub.2SiO].sub.y[R(CH.sub.3)SiO].sub.z wherein x is about 0.01 to about 0.1, y is about 0 to about 0.94, z is about 0.05 to about 0.99, and at each occurrence R is independently a mercapto(C.sub.1-30)hydrocarbyl group. The composition can include (B) at least one of (B1) a polyorganosiloxane comprising at least two aliphatic unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds, and (B2) an organic molecule comprising at least two aliphatic unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds; the composition can include (C) a filler. The composition can also include (D) a photoinitiator.
