CYCLOPENTADIENYL/ADAMANTYL PHOSPHINIMINE TITANIUM COMPLEXES

Provided in this disclosure are titanium complexes that contain 1) a cyclopentadienyl ligand; 2) an adamantyl-phosphinimine ligand; and 3) at least one activatable ligand. The use of such a complex, in combination with an activator, as an olefin polymerization catalyst is demonstrated. The catalysts are effective for the copolymerization of ethylene with an alpha olefin (such as 1-butene, 1-hexene or 1-octene) and enable the production of high molecular weight copolymers (Mw greater than 25,000) at high productivity under solution polymerization conditions.

Linear Low Density Polyethylene for Film Applications

The present disclosure generally relates to catalyst systems, polyethylene compositions, and uses of such compositions in, e.g., films. In an embodiment is provided a film that includes a polyethylene composition, comprising: ethylene and a C.sub.3-C.sub.40 olefin comonomer, the polyethylene composition having at least 65 wt % ethylene content and from 0 wt % to 35 wt % of a C.sub.3-C.sub.40 olefin comonomer content based upon the total weight of the composition, the film having: an average of MD and TD 1% secant modulus of 43,000 psi or greater, and a Dart Drop Impact Strength of greater than 500 g/mil. In another embodiment is provided a process for producing a polyethylene composition that includes introducing ethylene and a C.sub.3-C.sub.40 alpha-olefin to a catalyst system, the catalyst system comprising a first catalyst compound, a second catalyst compound, and an activator; and forming a polyethylene composition.

C2C3 random copolymer

New C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymers, which combine low sealing initiation temperature (SIT), high hot-tack, low C6-solubles, good optical properties and an improved stiffness/impact balance, which are particularly suited for preparing blown films. The present invention is furthermore related to the manufacture of said copolymers and to their use, as well as to the blown films comprising such C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymers.

OLEFIN-BASED POLYMER HAVING EXCELLENT MELT STRENGTH AND FILM INCLUDING THE SAME

Provided are an olefin-based polymer having excellent melt strength and a film including the same. The olefin-based polymer according to the present invention may have excellent processability, haze and mechanical properties, and in particular, high melt strength, thereby being usefully applied to films, etc.

Foamable polypropylene compositions

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition, an injection molded article comprising the polypropylene composition, a foamed article comprising the polypropylene composition as well as the use of a polypropylene homopolymer (H-PP1) for reducing the 5stiffness reduction factor of a foamed injection molded article by at least 40 as determined by the difference of the flexural modulus measured according to ISO 178 of the non-foamed and foamed injection molded article and compared to an article comprising the same amount of a polypropylene which has been polymerized in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst.

C2C3 RANDOM COPOLYMER

New C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymer (RACO), which shows improved sealing behaviour due to low sealing initiation temperature (SIT) and high hot tack force. In addition, the inventive C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymer (RACO) shows an excellent sterilization behaviour, i.e. retention of low haze level after sterilization. The present invention is furthermore related to the manufacture of said C.sub.2C.sub.3 random copolymer (RACO) and to its use.

Heterophasic Polyolefin Composition

A heterophasic polyolefin composition comprising 55 to 95 wt.-% based on the total weight of the heterophasic polyolefin composition of a propylene butene random copolymer (A) having an MFR.sub.2 (230° C.) of 0.3 to 100.0 g/10 min and a butene content of 1.5 to 8.0 wt.-%, wherein the propylene butene random copolymer is obtained by a process using a single site catalyst (I) and 5 to 45 wt.-% based on the total weight of the heterophasic polyolefin composition of a copolymer of ethylene (B) having a density in the range of 910 to 935 kg/m.sup.3 and an MFR.sub.2 (190° C.) of 0.5 to 10 g/10 min, wherein the copolymer of ethylene (B) is obtained by a process using a single site catalyst (II).
