HIGH ETHYLENE RANDOM COPOLYMER WITH NON-MIGRATING OLIGOMERS
This invention relates to the use of ethylene/propylene random copolymers for the production of films having low-haze. In particular, the present invention involves the use of ethylene/propylene random copolymer comprising 90-96.5 wt % propylene and 3.5-10 wt % ethylene demonstrated to have low haze. This invention also relates to an ethylene/propylene random copolymer composition comprising about 3.5-10 wt % ethylene content and about 90-96.5 wt % propylene content, for production of a low-haze film.
Process for Preparing Polymeric Particles
A process for preparing polymeric particles involves a stepwise or gradient emulsion polymerization. The polymeric particles contain polymerized units of methacrylic acid and further monomers, with an overall monomer composition by weight of polymerized units of 5 to 25% by weight of methacrylic acid and 75 to 95% by weight of further monomers. The further monomers are selected from C.sub.1- to C.sub.4-alkylesters of methacrylic acid and/or C.sub.1- to C.sub.4-alkylesters of acrylic acid. The ratio by weight of polymerized units of methacrylic acid to further monomers increases stepwise or in a gradient from the center to the surface of the particles and the polymeric particles are obtained in the form of an aqueous dispersion.
BATTERY WITH HALOGEN SEQUESTERING AGENT
The present specification relates to a battery, comprising an anode, a cathode, an electrolyte disposed between the anode and the cathode, a halogen in contact with the cathode, and a metal in contact with the anode, wherein the halogen is in contact with a polymeric halogen sequestering agent (HSA) which is a polymer comprising a moiety capable of sequestering the halogen.
AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSION COMPOSITION
Provided is an aqueous dispersion composition that comprises a carboxyl-group-containing water-soluble copolymer in a relatively high concentration, but has intact handleability. More specifically, provided is, for example, an aqueous dispersion composition comprising 4 to 8 mass % of a copolymer obtained by polymerization in the presence of a nonionic surfactant with one or more polyoxyethylene chains, the copolymer being at least one member selected from the group consisting of
(1) copolymers obtained by polymerizing the following (i) and (ii),
(2) copolymers obtained by polymerizing the following (i) and (iii), and
(3) copolymers obtained by polymerizing the following (i), (ii), and (iii):
(i) 100 parts by mass of a (meth)acrylic acid;
(ii) 0.001 to 1 part by mass of a compound with two or more ethylenically unsaturated groups; and
(iii) 0.5 to 5 parts by mass of a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester having an alkyl group with 10 to 30 carbon atoms.
