Described herein is a process for preparing a polyurethane elastomer including the steps of (A) preparing an isocyanate prepolymer (a), where the isocyanate prepolymer has an isocyanate content in the range of ≥1 wt.-% to ≤9 wt.-%, and (B) preparing a reaction mixture by mixing at least one epoxy compound (b) with the isocyanate prepolymer (a) in presence of at least one catalyst (c), and where the amount of the alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt is 0.00001 to 0.1 mol per kg of the total weight of the isocyanate prepolymer (a), the epoxy compound (b) and the catalyst (c), and heating the mixture to at least 80° C. to obtain the polyurethane elastomer. Also described herein are a polyurethane elastomer obtained by process and a method of using the polyurethane elastomer as part of a roller or as a sealant.

A method of making an isocyanurate polymer is disclosed. An isocyanate including at least one of an aromatic isocyanate and an aliphatic isocyanate is provided. A trimerization catalyst including at least one of an amine catalyst, an organometallic compound, and an imidazole compound is provided. A reaction mixture that is substantially free of reactive hydrogen is formed by mixing less than about twenty percent by total weight of said reaction mixture of an epoxide with said isocyanate. The trimerization catalyst is mixed with the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is cured to produce a polymer composition including a reaction product of two or more isocyanates.

An adhesive composition for use in flooring applications that includes a moisture curable polymer system; a calcium carbonate filler system having a first spheroidal particle of calcium carbonate having an equivalent spherical mean diameter of 70 nanometer (nm) to 15 micrometer (μm) and a second spheroidal particle of calcium carbonate having an equivalent spherical mean diameter of greater than 15 μm to 200 μm; a seed oil based fatty acid ester; and a silane based adhesion promoter. The adhesive composition provides low viscosity along with high shear resistance, which helps to retain the troweled ridges to enable maximum coverage.

A process for producing a thermoplastic polyoxazolidinone comprising copolymerizing a diisocyanate compound (A) with a bisepoxide compound (B) in the presence of a specific a quaternary ammonium, quaternary phoshonium and/or quaternary stibonium-based catalyst (C), a compound (D), a compound (F) wherein compound (D) and compound (F) independently comprises at least one of a monofunctional isocyanate, a monofunctional epoxide, a cyclic carbonate, a monofunctional alcohol, a monofunctional amine optionally in a solvent (E), and wherein the process is in the absence of a solvent (G) with a boiling point higher than 200° C., preferably higher than 190° C. and more preferably higher than 180° C. at 1 bar (absolute). The invention is also related to the resulting thermoplastic polyoxazolidinone.
