Method for solid freeform fabrication

The present invention provides methods, processes, and systems for the manufacture of three-dimensional articles made of polymers using 3D printing. A layer of prepolymer is deposited on a build plate to form a powder bed. The deposited powder bed is heated to about 50 C. to about 170 C. Then, a solution of activating agent is printed on the powder bed in a predetermined pattern, and a stimulus is applied converting the prepolymer to the final polymer. After a predetermined period of time, sequential layers are printed to provide the three-dimensional article. The three-dimensional object can be cured to produce the three-dimensional article composed of the final polymers.

The present invention provides a multicomponent composition that is substantially isocyanate-free and comprises a polycarbamate as a first component having a filler, pigment, extender or matting agent and a second component containing an acidic catalyst an alkanol having one OH group, a polyaldehyde and an acetal or hemiacetal of the polyaldehyde. The compositions are shelf stable and useful as two components and avoid problems caused by combining the catalyst with any filler, pigment, extender or matting agent.

METHOD FOR PREPARING ALIPHATIC POLYKETONE BY CONTINUOUS SOLUTION POLYMERIZATION PROCESS AND ALIPHATIC POLYKETONE

The present disclosure provides a method for preparing aliphatic polyketone by continuous solution polymerization process and aliphatic polyketone; the method comprises the following steps: a) continuously feeding carbon monoxide, an olefin compound and a solvent system containing catalyst into a continuous flow reactor for solution polymerization to obtain an aliphatic polyketone; wherein the aliphatic polyketone has a particle size of 10 ?m?50 ?m, a particle size distribution width Span of 0.5?0.9, and a bulk density >0.35 g/ml. Compared with the prior art, in the method provided by the present disclosure, a solvent system containing a catalyst is adopted, and a continuous solution polymerization reaction is conducted to realize continuous feeding and continuous discharging, thereby effectively solving the problems such as difficulty in controlling the morphology of polymer particles, easy material hanging on the wall, low single-pot yield, and poor product repeatability in the traditional batch slurry process.

Polyketone powder for laser sintering

A semicrystalline poly ketone powder useful for additive manufacturing may be made by dissolving a polyketone having differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) monomodal melt peak, at a temperature above 50 C. to below the melt temperature of the polyketone, precipitating the dissolved polyketone by cooling, addition of a nonsolvent or combination thereof. The method may be used to form polyketones having a DSC melt peak with an enthalpy greater than the starting polyketone.
