The present invention relates to a copolymer having polyamide blocks and having polyether blocks (PEBA) which can be used for the manufacture of an article, preferably a foamed article. The invention also relates to expanded particles prepared from said copolymer and to the manufacture of a foamed article from said expanded particles.
Plastic material for printing by dye diffusion thermal transfer printing
A plastic material is useful as an ink receiver or printing medium in dye diffusion thermal transfer printing, wherein the plastic material has a polyamide component (a), and a (co)-polyamide (b) based on ether units and amide units. This plastic material can be used to make a layered structure. The layered structure can be used in dye diffusion thermal transfer printing. A security and/or valuable document with the layered structure can be obtained. Based on the finding that the (co)-polyamide (h) offers sufficient absorbency for the printing ink, the layer produced from the plastic material can be printed on by means of dye diffusion thermal transfer printing with a good color intensity.
POLYAMIDE ELASTOMERS WITH HIGH MELTING POINTS
A method of producing a polyamide elastomer comprising feeding a salt solution having a solids content of greater than or equal to 80% to a reactor having a phosphorous containing catalyst having a phosphorous level from 5 to 1000 part by million based on the total weight of the catalyst, feeding a polyether amine to the reactor, and reducing the pressure in the reactor once a target temperature is reached to polymerize the salt solution and the polyether amine to form the polyamide elastomer. The polyamide elastomer has particular uses as a cable tie and demonstrates improved cold-temperature applications while maintaining high strength, good flammability rating, and excellent processability.
