A method relating to a copolymer containing rigid polyamides blocks and flexible blocks including, relative to the total weight of the copolymer: from 55% to 90% by weight of flexible blocks, including at least 35% by weight from polyethylene glycol; from 10% to 45% by weight of rigid polyamide blocks, in which the mean carbon content of the repeating units of the polyamide blocks is greater than or equal to 7. A method also relating to a process for preparing such a copolymer, to a membrane including such a copolymer and to a process for preparing such a membrane.

A film-forming agent contains the viscosity modifier including a polyamide component that contains a polyamide compound from a C2-10 aliphatic and/or C6-10 aromatic primary diamine and a C12-36 polybasic acid and/or a C12-30 unsubstituted or hydroxy-substituted aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. The film-forming agent contains the viscosity modifier and a film-forming component and is at least any one selected from a paint, a coating material, a painting material, a flux, an adhesive material, and a sealing material.

A liquid crystal polyester comprising a structural unit derived from 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid, wherein in thermal extraction GC-MS analysis of the liquid crystal polyester under the following measuring conditions, the relative content of the following impurity component determined from the GC peak area in the total ion chromatogram using methyl 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoate as a standard sample is 50 ppm or less based on the mass of the liquid crystal polyester, and the impurity component has main peaks at m/z=228, 186, 171, and 143 in the MS spectrum chart and a retention time detected in the range of 11.5 to 12.5 min in the total ion chromatogram.
