The present invention is directed to a method for producing a semi-IPN composite, including: mixing a polyurethane (A) and a polymerization product (B) of a hydrophilic acrylic monomer (b1) and an acrylic monomer (b2) having a hydrolyzable silyl group; and causing the polymerization product (B) to undergo crosslinking. The hydrophilic acrylic monomer (b1) preferably includes an acrylic monomer (b1-1) having an amide group and an acrylic monomer (b1-2) having an oxyethylene group. Further, the polymerization ratio (molar ratio) of the acrylic monomer (b1-1) having an amide group, the acrylic monomer (b1-2) having an oxyethylene group, and the acrylic monomer (b2) having a hydrolyzable silyl group {(b1-1)/(b1-2)/(b2)} is preferably in the range of 50/49.5/0.5 to 89/1/10.

A film-forming composition includes a compound including a SiH bond and an orthoester. The compound preferably includes a structural unit that is a structural unit represented by formula (1-1), a structural unit represented by formula (1-2), or a combination thereof. In the formula (1-1) and the formula (1-2), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represent a hydroxy group, a halogen atom, or a monovalent organic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and R.sup.3 represents a substituted or unsubstituted divalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms that bonds to two Si atoms.

LONG LASTING COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING SILICONE ELASTOMER

A composition is provided that includes an elastomer and an additive. The additive stabilizes the elastomer, although it may be useful for an alternate or additional purpose. The elastomer can have a moiety according to the general formula: A-B-A or B-A-B. Each A independently comprises a polysiloxane moiety having at least two siloxy (SiO) groups. Each B independently comprises a moiety, or a precursor thereof, having at least one carboxyl group. B is bonded to a silicon atom in A. The elastomer may comprise the reaction product of a reaction of: a first component having at least one reactive group; a second component having at least one reactive group; and a third component having at least two reactive groups reactive with the reactive groups of the first and second components. In addition, a cosmetic composition is provided that includes the elastomer, the additive, and at least one cosmetic component.

Isocyanate-functional silicone-polyether copolymer, silicone-polyether-urethane copolymer formed therewith, sealants comprising same, and related methods

An isocyanate-functional silicone-polyether copolymer having a particular structure is disclosed. A method of preparing the isocyanate-functional silicone-polyether copolymer is also disclosed, the method comprising reacting a polyether compound and an organosilicon compound to give the isocyanate-functional silicone-polyether copolymer. A silicone-polyether-urethane copolymer formed therewith, as well as a method of preparing the silicone-polyether-urethane copolymer, are also disclosed. Sealants comprising the isocyanate-functional silicone-polyether copolymer and/or the silicone-polyether-urethane copolymer are further disclosed.
