AEROGEL AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
A production method for an aerogel includes a sol generation step by adding a silicon compound to an aqueous solution containing an acid catalyst and performing hydrolysis, where the silicon compound contains at least a quadri-functional silane compound and a tri-functional silane compound among quadri-functional silane compounds, tri-functional silane compounds, and di-functional silane compounds, the density of the aerogel is 0.15 g/cm.sup.3 or less, for example the silicon compound is a mixture of a quadri-functional silane compound, a tri-functional silane compound, and a di-functional silane compound having portions satisfying 0<Qx<50, 50≤Tx<100, 0≤Dx<30, and Qx+Tx+Dx=100, where Qx, Tx, and Dx represent the mass percentages of the quadri-functional silane compound, the tri-functional silane compound, and the di-functional silane compound, respectively. This provides aerogel having excellent thermal insulating characteristics and a large area.
Fire Protection Material
Fire protection materials comprising an endothermic hydrate, an intumescent, a heat resistant fiber and an elastomeric polymer. In various embodiments, endothermic hydrate comprises aluminum trihydrate, the intumescent comprises expandable graphite, and the heat resistant fiber comprises poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide). The elastomeric polymer may be a polyorganosiloxane, such as a phenyl substituted polydimethyl siloxane. Also described are structures comprising such fire protection materials, e.g., separators and other battery containment structures such as for use with high density lithium batteries.

The present disclosure relates to an optical laminate for a flexible display device comprising: a support substrate layer; and a hard coating layer positioned on at least one surface of the support substrate layer and having a thickness of 10 μm to 250 μm, wherein the hard coating layer is a polysiloxane containing 70 mol % or more of a repeating unit including an epoxy group-containing functional group; and an elastomeric polymer including polycaprolactone polyol, and wherein the polysiloxane has a number average molecular weight of more than 3,000 and less than 10,000, and a polydispersity Index (PDI) of 1.0 or more and less than 5.0, and a flexible display device including the same.
GLASS-CERAMIC ARTICLE
The present invention relates to an article, especially a cooktop or a furniture element, comprising at least one substrate, such as a plate, made of glass-ceramic, said substrate being coated in at least one zone with a paint comprising at least: 1) a silicone resin comprising methyl and phenyl groups, 2) one or more lamellar inorganic fillers with a thickness of less than 2 μm and with lateral dimensions, for at least 80% by weight of said fillers, of between 10 μm and 65 μm, including at least: 2a) mica(s), and 2b) talc and/or one or more carbonates, 3) one or more black pigments.
The present invention also relates to a process for obtaining said article.
CURABLE SILICONE COMPOSITION AND CURED PRODUCT OF SAME, MULTILAYER BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND OPTICAL DEVICE OR OPTICAL DISPLAY
Provided is a curable silicone composition, a cured product thereof, a laminate body, a manufacturing method thereof, and an optical device or optical display exhibiting excellent performance for use as a member where transparency is required such as for an optical display, a touch panel, or the like. A curable silicone composition, comprises: (A) an organopolysiloxane having in a molecule at least 2 alkenyl groups with 2 to 12 carbon atoms; (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; and (C) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. Component (B) is present in an amount such that the silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in component (B) are 0.5 to 2 mol per mol of aliphatic unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds in component (A), and 2 to 17.5 mol % of the silicon-bonded organic groups in the curable silicone composition are aryl groups.

A condensation-curable resin composition which contains: (A) an organosilicon compound containing a structural unit (i) represented by the following formula (i) and a structural unit (ii) represented by the following formula (ii), having a SiOH group at both ends of the molecular chain, and having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 or more and 10,000,000 or less; and (B) an organometallic compound having three or more condensation-reactive groups. In formula (i), each R.sup.1 is independently a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. In formula (ii), each R.sup.2 is independently a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms.
