The disclosure relates to an organic-inorganic hybrid (OIH) polymeric composition and related methods for forming the same. The disclosure also relates to a polymeric composition as disclosed herein and related methods for forming the same. The OIH polymeric composition and the polymeric composition can be formed by UV-irradiating a corresponding composition including a Michael-addition (MA) acceptor compound, a Michael-addition (MA) donor compound, a silane compound, when present, and a photo-latent base initiator to form a corresponding base catalyst and catalyze the reactions forming the networked polymer. The OIH polymeric composition and the polymeric composition can be used as a coating on any of a variety of substrates or as an interlayer in an additive manufacturing process.

Molded article and method of producing the same
Provided is a molded article comprising a resin, wherein the resin comprises a methacrylic resin comprising a structural unit derived from a methacrylic acid ester and a structural unit derived from a silica particle having an average primary particle diameter of 1 nm or more and 50 nm or less and comprising at least one polymerizable functional group, and the molded article has an absolute value of degree of orientation in the thickness direction of 0.02 or more and satisfies the requirement (I): (I) When the free induction decay curve (X) obtained by measuring the molded article by a solid echo method at 150° C. using a pulse nuclear magnetic resonance measurement apparatus is approximated by the least square method using the formula (F1), the sum (B+C) of the component fractions of two components having different spin-spin relaxation times in the free induction decay curve (X) is 4% or more.
PIEZOELECTRIC COMPOSITE FILAMENTS AND USE THEREOF IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Parts made by additive manufacturing are often structural in nature, rather than having functional properties conveyed by a polymer or other component. Printed parts having piezoelectric properties may be formed using a composite filament comprising a plurality of piezoelectric particles dispersed in a thermoplastic polymer. The composite filaments may be formed through melt blending and extrusion. The composite filament is compatible with fused filament fabrication and has a length and diameter compatible with fused filament fabrication, and the piezoelectric particles are substantially non-agglomerated and dispersed along the length of the composite filament. The piezoelectric particles may remain substantially non-agglomerated when dispersed in the thermoplastic polymer through melt blending. Additive manufacturing processes may comprise heating such a composite filament at or above a melting point or softening temperature thereof to form a softened composite material, and depositing the softened composite material layer by layer to form a printed part.
Process for the preparation of resin-inorganic fibers composite and the obtained resin-inorganic fibers composite for coating
The present disclosure is directed to a process for the preparation of resin-inorganic fibers composite and the obtained resin-inorganic fibers composite for coating. The process comprises the step of providing inorganic fibers bearing one or more monomer functional groups reactive with a monomer component; and reacting resin-forming monomer components with the inorganic fibers bearing one or more monomer functional groups reactive with a monomer component, to obtain the resin-inorganic fibers composite, wherein the resin is selected from the group consisting of alkyd resin, polyester resin and a combination thereof. The present disclosure is also directed to a coating composition containing the composite and a coating formed from the coating composition.
Organic-inorganic hybrid material, fabrication process of the same and its starting material
An organic-inorganic hybrid material is disclosure. The organic inorganic hybrid material contains 5˜50 wt % of inorganic compounds and has a characteristic peak at 1050±50 cm.sup.−1 in FTIR spectrum. Furthermore, the invention also provides a fabricating process of the organic-inorganic hybrid material as well as its starting material “isocyanates”. In particular, the isocyanates are prepared from carbonate containing compounds and amines.
SYNTHESIS OF ANTIMICROBIAL SILSESQUIOXANE-SILICA HYBRIDS
One-pot synthetic methods are disclosed for synthesizing curable, antimicrobial silsesquioxane-silica hybrids by hydrolytically co-condensing a tetraalkoxysilane with two different trialkoxysilanes. Particles are also disclosed that are substantially spherical and have an ordered lamellar internal structure. In addition, polymers prepared front the curable, antimicrobial silsesquioxane-silica hybrids and co-monomers are disclosed.
