METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF POLYETHER RUBBER
A method of production of a polyether rubber containing units expressed by the following general formula (1) in 0.1 mol % to less than 30 mol % including reacting a polyether rubber containing epihalohydrin monomer units in 0.1 mol % or more and a nitrogen atom-containing aromatic heterocyclic compound by kneading in the presence of an acid acceptor using an extruder-kneader so as to make at least part of halogen atoms forming the epihalohydrin monomer units be substituted by a group containing a cationic nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic structure is provided.

(wherein, in the above general formula (1), A.sup.+ is a group containing a cationic nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic structure, where the group containing a cationic nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic structure is bonded with a carbon atom at the 2 position shown in the above general formula (1) through a nitrogen atom forming the cationic nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic structure, and X.sup. is any counter anion.)
POLYMER OF FLUORINE-CONTAINING SULFONATED POLY(ARYLENE ETHER)S AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A polymer of fluorine-containing sulfonated poly(arylene ether)s and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The polymer is formed by processing a nucleophilic polycondensation between a fluorine-containing monomer having an electron-withdrawing group and a multi-phenyl monomer. A main structure of the polymer of fluorine-containing sulfonated poly(arylene ether)s has a first portion with fluoro or trifluoromethyl substituted phenyl groups, and a second portion with sulfonated phenyl groups.
Fluoropolyether-containing polymer
A fluoropolyether-containing polymer of formula (1) is novel wherein Rf is a polymer residue containing a monovalent fluorooxyalkyl or divalent fluorooxyalkylene group, Z is a divalent hydrocarbon group, and is 1 or 2. The polymer may be converted into a fluoropolyether-containing polymer-modified silane, which forms a water/oil repellent coating having weatherability. ##STR00001##
Functional bottlebrush polymers
An example of a bottlebrush polymer has a polymer backbone and a plurality of individual brush moieties bonded to the polymer backbone. The individual brush moieties respectively include a crosslinked oxyamine moiety, a hydrophilic segment, and a surface adhesive terminal group.
