Methods and systems for generating aqueous polymer solutions

Provided herein are liquid polymer (LP) compositions comprising a synthetic (co)polymer (e.g., an acrylamide (co)polymer), as well as methods for preparing aqueous polymer solutions by combining these LP compositions with an aqueous fluid. The resulting aqueous polymer solutions can have a concentration of a synthetic (co)polymer (e.g., an acrylamide (co)polymer) of from 50 to 15,000 ppm, and a filter ratio of 1.5 or less at 15 psi using a 1.2 μm filter. Also provided are methods of using these aqueous polymer solutions in oil and gas operations, including enhanced oil recovery.

According to the process for preparing a vulcanized rubber composition of the invention comprising (a) a step of preparing a master batch comprising a butadiene rubber and silica, (b) a step of preparing a master batch comprising an isoprene rubber and silica, (c) a step of kneading the master batch obtained in (a) and the master batch obtained in (b), and (d) a step of vulcanizing a kneaded product obtained in (c), wherein the obtained vulcanized rubber composition comprises a BR phase and a IR phase, which are incompatible with each other, a predetermined abundance ratio α of silica in the BR phase satisfies 0.3≦α≦0.7 (Relation 1), and a proportion β of the butadiene rubber satisfies 0.4≦β≦0.8 (Relation 2) it is possible to improve performance on ice and abrasion resistance and to provide a vulcanized rubber composition having excellent performance on ice and abrasion resistance, and a studless tire with a tread made using the same.

Method of preparing fiber-reinforced polymer composites and fiber-reinforced polymer composites prepared thereof

A method of preparing a fiber-reinforced polymer composite is provided. The method includes (a) providing a swollen clay material; (b) chemically modifying a surface of the swollen clay material with an organosilane to form a silane-modified clay material; (c) intercalating the silane-modified clay material with a binder to form an intercalated clay material; and (d) melt compounding the intercalated clay material with a mixture comprising a polymer and fiber to form the fiber-reinforced polymer composite. A fiber-reinforced polymer composite is also provided.

Heat resistant ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer composition and process for its production

Disclosed herein are curable heat resistant ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer-polyamide blend compositions, wherein the ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer has a melting peak temperature of 100° C. or less. The blend compositions comprise 0.1 to 10 weight percent dispersed polyamide, and may be cured to form articles having improved heat resistance while maintaining the desirable physical properties of unmodified, cured ethylene vinyl acetate articles.

A reactive functional group-containing polyarylene sulfide resin composition having a narrow polydispersity and a low gas generation amount is manufactured by mixing a polyarylene sulfide resin (a) and a polyarylene sulfide resin (b), wherein the polyarylene sulfide (a) has a weight reduction ratio ΔWr of not higher than 0.18% under heating and an increase rate of melt viscosity of less than 1.05 times by addition of a reactive compound (c) having a reactive group relative to melt viscosity prior to addition of the reactive compound (c), and the polyarylene sulfide (b) has the weight reduction ratio ΔWr of not higher than 0.18% under heating and the increase rate of melt viscosity of not less than 1.05 times by addition of the reactive compound (c) having the reactive group relative to melt viscosity prior to addition of the reactive compound (c).
