Fiber Reinforced Rebar with Shaped Sections
A composite reinforcing bar is formed by providing a reinforcing material supply of fiber strands ravings; a resin supply bath, and a puller for pulling the resin-impregnated reinforcing material through the resin bath. The material is wound on a holder, while the resin remains unset, rotated about its axis on a drive system so that the material is wrapped around a plurality of guides at spaced positions around the axis such that the fed length of the body is wrapped from one bar to the next to form bent portions of the body wrapped partly around each guide and straight portions between the guides. The guide surfaces are shaped by a machining, blasting or similar process to form projections and recesses which retain a roughness on the outside surface of the reinforcing bar during the curing action while supported on the surface. This arrangement can be used with an optional sand coating to prevent the sand particles from being compressed into the resin or body.
PHOSPHAZENE COMPOUND CONTAINING ESTER GROUP, PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a phosphazene compound containing an ester group having a structure of formula (I). The present invention grafts ester groups to phosphazene compounds and makes terminal grafted hydroxyl and carboxyl groups reacted with polymer matrix, producing an improvement of flame retardancy and a reduction of dielectric constant at the same time when the phosphazene compound is introduced into polymer matrix. Since N and P atoms are directly bonded into the polymer matrix by a reaction rather than addition and combination means in the prior art, there is no reduced mechanical properties of the matrix due to the addition of flame retardants.
DINADIC PHENYL AMINE REACTIVE ENDCAPS
Dinadic phenyl amine reactive endcap monomers for application in high-temperature polymeric composites are described. The amine group of the endcap is directly reacted with a desired chemical backbone to provide the preferred rigidity and chemical resistance. The ability of the amine group to react with a wide variety of chemical backbones allows the tailoring of formulations for various application temperatures, mechanical properties, processes and resistances while retaining the high degree of crosslinking that yields excellent temperature stability, ease of processing and the necessary toughness. Polyimide oligomers comprising the reaction product of at least one dinadic phenyl amine endcap monomer and a chemical backbone, preferably with a molecular weight not exceeding about 1000-3000, suitable for high temperature composites are described. The dinadic phenyl amine endcaps may be reacted with an acid anhydride capped precursor to form polyimide resins suitable for high-temperature composites.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL VIA IN-SITU POLYMERIZATION OF THERMOPLASTIC (METH)ACRYLIC RESINS AND ITS USE
The present invention relates to a composite material obtained by in situ polymerization of a thermoplastic resin with a fibrous material. More particularly the present invention relates to a polymeric composite material obtained by in-situ polymerization of a thermoplastic (meth)acrylic resin and a fibrous material containing long fibers and its use, a process for making such a composite material and manufactured mechanical or structured part or article comprising this polymeric composite material.
CURABLE PREPREGS WITH SURFACE OPENINGS
Curable prepregs possessing enhanced ability for the removal of gases from within prepregs and between prepreg plies in a prepreg layup prior to and/or during consolidation and curing. Each curable prepreg is a resin-impregnated, woven fabric that has been subjected to a treatment to create an array of openings in at least one major surface. Furthermore, the location of the openings is specific to the weave pattern of the fabric.

A radical-polymerizable resin composition comprising one or more metal-containing compounds (A) selected from a metal soap (A1) and a β-diketone skeleton-containing metal complex (A2); one or more thiol compounds (B) selected from a secondary thiol compound (B1) and a tertiary thiol compound (B2); and a radical-polymerizable compound (C) can stably cure under a dry condition, in water and in seawater and further on a wet substrate. The radical-polymerizable resin composition is useful as a repairing material for inorganic structure, a radical-polymerizable coating composition, a concrete spall preventing curable material, a reinforcing fiber-containing composite material, etc.

The present disclosure provides for aqueous, curable binder compositions, as well as articles and products comprising assemblies of matter comprising mineral fibers, synthetic fibers, natural fibers, cellulosic particles and sheet materials comprising the binder compositions disclosed herein.
SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING A FULLY IMPREGNATED THERMOPLASTIC PREPREG
According to one embodiment, a system for manufacturing a fully impregnated thermoplastic prepreg includes a mechanism for moving a fabric or mat and a drying mechanism that removes residual moisture from at least one surface of the fabric or mat. The system also includes a resin application mechanism that applies a reactive resin to the fabric or mat and a press mechanism that presses the coated fabric or mat to ensure that the resin fully saturates the fabric or mat. The system further includes a curing oven through which the coated fabric or mat is moved to polymerize the resin and thereby form a thermoplastic polymer so that upon exiting the oven, the fabric or mat is fully impregnated with the thermoplastic polymer. During at least a portion of the process, humidity in the vicinity of the coated fabric or mat is maintained at substantially zero.
