ONE-COMPONENT THERMOSETTING EPOXY COMPOSITION WITH IMPROVED ADHESION
A one-component thermosetting epoxy resin composition includes at least one epoxy resin A having on average more than one epoxide group per molecule, at least one latent hardener B for epoxy resins, at least one impact modifier D, at least one physical or chemical blowing agent E and fibrous anhydrous magnesium oxysulfate MOS. Thermally expandable epoxy resin compositions have improved adhesion, especially on metal substrates.
HYBRID POLYURETHANE SPRAY FOAMS MADE WITH URETHANE PREPOLYMERS AND RHEOLOGY MODIFIERS
Hybrid spray foams utilize a urethane reactant, a crosslinker, and an (optional) epoxy and/or acrylic resin along with a blowing agent and rheology modifier to produce a quick-setting foam that remains in place until the foam forms and cures. The urethane reactant may be formed as an adduct with or without the use of isocyanate chemistry. In some embodiments, the polyurethane oligomer is made by reacting cyclocarbonates and di- or polyamines, while in other embodiments the polyurethane backbone employs the use of commercially available capped or blocked urethane oligomers made by any method. The oligomers contain reactive groups, typically at the oligomer ends, that crosslink with crosslinkers or with acrylic or epoxy resins to form hybrid polyurethane foams. Foams may also contain a plasticizer, and/or a surfactant as well as other optional additives. Methods of making such foams are also provided.
INFRARED ATTENUATION AGENT BLENDS
Inorganic infrared attenuation agent blends have been developed to improve the thermal insulation properties of polymeric foams such as polystyrene low density foams. The inorganic infrared attenuation agent blends can include two or more metal oxides such as silicon dioxide, manganese (IV) oxide, iron (III) oxide, magnesium oxide, bismuth (III) oxide, cobalt oxide, zirconium (IV) oxide, molybdenum (III) oxide, titanium oxide, and calcium oxide. In some preferred embodiments, the inorganic infrared attenuation agent blends can include four or more of these metal oxides.
Elastic body, bump stop, electromagnetic induction device, power generation system, detection device, and production method for elastic body
An elastic body of this disclosure contains magnetized magnetic powder dispersed in an elastic member, and generates an induced current in a circuit by undergoing an elastic deformation to cause a change in magnetic flux density. The elastic member is an elastomeric foam.
FLAME RETARDANT COMPOSITION FOR FOAMED STYRENE RESIN, FLAME-RETARDANT FOAMED-STYRENE-BASED RESIN COMPOSITION, AND EXTRUDED FOAM MOLDED PRODUCT THEREOF
Provided are a flame retardant composition for expandable styrene resin with which an extrusion-foamed molded article having excellent flame retardancy and excellent heat resistance can be produced; a styrene-based resin composition; and an extrusion-foamed molded article of the styrene-based resin composition. The flame retardant composition for expandable styrene resin of the present invention comprises at least B1) tetrabromobisphenol A-bis(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropyl ether), (C) a zinc-modified hydrotalcite, and (D) a phosphoric acid ester-based compound, the component (B1) being contained in an amount of 10 to 98 mass % based on the total amount of the component (B1) and the component (D).
POLYMER FOAM PARTICLES AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF BASED ON POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTHALATE
The invention relates to polymer foam particles, both in expanded and partly expanded form, from a polymer matrix based on a blend comprising polybutylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate, to a process for production thereof, and to the use of polyethylene terephthalate for broadening the processing window of polybutylene terephthalate-based polymer foam particles in processing to give mouldings.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FLEXIBLE SEALANT WITH DENSITY MODIFIER
In certain embodiments, the disclosed sealant comprises a one-component, closed-cell, semi-foam, sealant using gas-filled, flexible, organic microspheres to create a product that is elastic and compressible under pressure without protruding in an outward direction when compressed, thereby allowing the applied sealant to compress in an enclosed, maximum-filled channel unlike typical mastic sealants (while retaining the ability to rebound). This allows the sealant to function as a gasket, and, once fully cured, to have properties including vibration damping, insulating, and condensation resistance. The sealant can be formulated as an air barrier or a vapor barrier and at various degrees of moisture resistance. It may be applied by different packaging variations including aerosol can (bag in can or bag on valve), airless sprayer, cartridge tubes, foil tubes, squeeze tubes, and buckets to be applied using a brush, trowel, spatula, etc. The disclosed sealant can also be formulated to be smoke-resistant and flame-resistant.
Adhesive sheet
In an embodiment, an adhesive sheet has an expandable adhesive layer 2 on one side or both sides of a base 1, wherein the expandable adhesive layer 2 contains an epoxy resin including a polyfunctional epoxy resin, a phenol resin as a curing agent, an imidazole-based compound as a curing catalyst, and a temperature-sensitive foaming agent. The adhesive sheet has properties in good balance, such as fast curability, heat resistance, and adhesiveness, and also excellent properties such as thermal conductivity attributed to a good filling property.
SPRAY FOAM ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE ABSORBER
A method, a device, and a composition are disclosed. The method includes providing a polyol blend that includes a polyol resin and an electromagnetic (EMA) additive, providing an isocyanate resin selected such that blending the isocyanate resin with the polyol blend results in an EMA spray foam. The device includes a first compartment containing an isocyanate resin and a second compartment containing a polyol blend, which includes a polyol resin and an EMA additive. The composition includes a polyurethane spray foam and an EMA additive blended into the polyurethane spray foam.
COOLING INFILL FOR SYNTHETIC TURF APPLICATIONS
