THERMAL INSULATION MATERIAL COMPRISING PARTIALLY OXIDIZED GRAPHITE OXIDE PARTICLES
The present invention relates to a thermal insulation material comprising graphite oxide particles, and also to the use of partially oxidized graphite oxide particles as an opacifying agent in a thermal insulation material.
Controlled polymer foaming using a hybrid nucleating agent formed from a mineral and an organic nucleating agent
This disclosure describes processes for producing polymer foams, and compositions of matter relating to these processes. A process includes the steps of dispersing an organic nucleating agent in a dispersing medium to obtain an additive dispersion, contacting the additive dispersion with a mineral nucleating agent to obtain a hybrid nucleating agent containing the organic nucleating agent localized on at least a portion of a surface of the mineral nucleating agent, and contacting the hybrid nucleating agent with a polymer in the presence of a foaming agent to obtain a polymer foam. A foamed polymer of the present disclosure includes a cellular matrix containing a polymer material, and a mineral matrix of particles containing a hybrid nucleating agent dispersed in the cellular matrix, in which the hybrid nucleating agent contains an organic nucleating agent localized on at least a portion of a surface of an inorganic material.
Resin composition and molded article produced therefrom
Provided are resin composition and a molded article produced therefrom, the resin composition comprising: a polycarbonate resin; a rubber-modified aromatic vinyl-based copolymer resin; a conductive additive including a carbon fiber and a carbon nanotube; talc; and a foaming agent, wherein the carbon fiber and the carbon nanotube are contained in a weight ratio of 1:0.1 to 1:0.4.
Absorbent article containing a porous polyolefin film
An absorbent article containing a polyolefin film is provided. The polyolefin film is formed by a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and nanoinclusion additive is provided. The nanoinclusion additive is dispersed within the continuous phase as discrete nano-scale phase domains. When drawn, the nano-scale phase domains are able to interact with the matrix in a unique manner to create a network of nanopores.
Polypropylene composition
The invention relates to a process to produce irradiated polypropylene granulate wherein granulate comprising 1. a propylene polymer and 2. a vitamin E comprising stabilizer package is irradiated by electron beam radiation.
SILICONE RUBBER FOAM WITH ABLATION RESISTANCE AND HIGH-EFFICIENCY HEAT INSULATION AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a room-temperature-vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber foam with ablation resistance and high-efficiency heat insulation and a preparation method thereof. In the present disclosure, hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane, vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane, a catalyst, an inhibitor, a ceramifiable emulsion foaming agent, a functionalized ceramic filler, and a heat-resistant additive are placed in a planetary stirring tank, and stirred to obtain a base rubber A. The hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane, the vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane, a hydrogen-containing silicone oil, a functionalized low-melting glass powder, and functionalized hexagonal boron nitride are placed in the planetary stirring tank, and stirred to obtain a base rubber B. The base rubber B is transferred to the base rubber A, vulcanization is conducted, followed by after vulcanization in an oven to obtain a final product.
POLYMERIC AEROGEL COMPOSITE AND SYNTHESIS BY AMBIENT AND FREEZE-DRYING`
Polymeric aerogels, articles made from the polymeric aerogels and methods of making the polymeric aerogels are provided. The aerogels are made e.g. from crosslinkable monomers such as isocyanate monomers or phenolic monomers and a filler comprising crosslinkable hydroxyl groups. The filler may be natural (e.g. wood flour) or synthetic. The aerogels and products made therefrom exhibit low thermal conductivity and are mechanically strong. Due to their physical properties, these materials are used as e.g. building envelope components, such as walls, roofs and frames, to improve the thermal performance thereof, and may be used in a variety of other applications such as sound and insulation barriers in mechanical equipment, cryogenic containers, etc.
Polypropylene foams and processes of making
The present disclosure provides a linear polypropylene foam with, for example, low density and/or high expansion ratio, said linear polypropylene foam comprising at least one polypropylene, at least one alpha nucleating agent, and at least one beta nucleating agent. The present disclosure also provides compositions and processes for making said linear polypropylene foam.
Resin foam particles, resin foam shaped product, and laminate
Provided are resin foam particles that enable shaping of a sound absorbing member having excellent sound absorption performance through a resin foam shaped product. Also provided is a laminate that includes a resin foam shaped product as a base material and with which high sound absorption performance can be obtained even when the laminate is a thin material. The resin foam particles contain a resin and have a recessed external part. A ratio .sub.0/.sub.1 of density of the resin .sub.0 and true density .sub.1 of the resin foam particles is 2 to 20, and a ratio .sub.1/.sub.2 of true density .sub.1 of the resin foam particles and bulk density .sub.2 of the resin foam particles is 1.5 to 4.0.
