A melamine/formaldehyde foam having an open-cell foam structure, with an impregnation applied to the foam structure that comprises at least one particulate phyllosilicate surface-modified with aminosilane and at least one anionically- and/or nonionically-stabilized polyurethane dispersion.
COOLING INFILL FOR SYNTHETIC TURF APPLICATIONS
Disclosed is an infill for an artificial turf field, the infill comprising: from about 40 wt. % to about 60 wt. % of a polyvinyl chloride resin; from about 5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a plasticizer derived from a naturally occurring source; from about 2 wt. % to about 10 wt. % of a reflective pigment; from about 0.01 wt. % to about 0.1 wt. % of a blowing agent; and from about 5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a filler. The infill is pelletized and maintains the temperature of an artificial turf field, when disposed throughout the artificial turf field, at a temperature about 15 F. to about 25 F. less than a temperature of a comparative artificial turf under substantially similar ambient and environmental conditions, wherein a comparative infill of the comparative artificial turf consists essentially of crumbed rubber infill.
Polyolefin film for use in packaging
A polyolefin packaging film is provided. The polyolefin film is formed by a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and nanoinclusion additive is provided. The nanoinclusion additive is dispersed within the continuous phase as discrete nano-scale phase domains. When drawn, the nano-scale phase domains are able to interact with the matrix in a unique manner to create a network of nanopores.
Foamed thermoplastic material, method for the manufacture thereof, articles prepared therefrom, and article-forming method
A foamed thermoplastic material includes a thermoplastic material exhibiting, in its unfoamed state, a particular flammability index, flame growth rate, and specific extinction area. The foamed thermoplastic material further includes a plurality of cells having a number average mean diameter of 5 to 150 micrometers present in an amount effective to provide the foamed thermoplastic material with a density that is 10 to 90 percent of the density of the unfoamed thermoplastic material. The foamed thermoplastic material exhibits a desirable tensile elongation and dielectric constant. A process for forming the foamed thermoplastic material, articles including the foamed thermoplastic material, and an article-forming process are also described.
Foamed silicone in wound care
A silicone foam is described that is produced in-situ at a wound site, e.g. in a wound cavity, through a multi-component system, based on a physical foaming process, wherein the gas required to form the foam structure is provided through a blowing agent independently of the curing reaction of polyorganosiloxane components of the multi-component system. Therefore, the blowing agent is provided as a distinct entity of the multi-component system that is, in particular, not the result of any chemical reaction taking place in the multi-component system. A device for producing the foam and the corresponding negative pressure wound therapy kit are also described.
Solid composite intumescent structures for fire protection
A free-standing solid composite intumescent structure has at least one bendable metal mesh, preferably at least two, secured on or in a bendable intumescent sheet material. The structure is bendable by a bending force into a shape at a temperature above 10 C. while retaining the bended shape when the bending force is removed. The intumescent sheet material has 10 wt % or more, based on total weight of the sheet material, of a polymeric resin; inorganic filler; and, an intumescent component. Fire protection barriers can be made from the free-standing solid composite intumescent structure, which can be used in fire protection systems where the fire protection barrier is installed on a substrate, for example steel building elements.
POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a process to produce irradiated polypropylene granulate wherein granulate comprising 1. a propylene polymer and 2. a vitamin E comprising stabilizer package is irradiated by electron beam radiation.
PREPARATION METHOD FOR THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE MICRO AIR BAG ELASTOMER MATERIAL
A method for preparing a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer material with micro air holes is provided. The method comprises the following steps: (1) is feeding liquid raw materials such as diisocyanate molecules and solid additives into a double-screw reactor to trigger a polymerization type chain extension reaction and then obtain a macromolecular weight hot melt. (2) is pushing the macromolecular weight hot melt into a mixing extruder and allowing the reaction to continue to obtain a macromolecular thermoplastic polyurethane melt. (3) is continuously adding the obtained macromolecular thermoplastic polyurethane melt together with polymer particles into a foaming extruder, and extruding the high-pressure hot melt from a mold head into an underwater granulation chamber. (4) is delivering the particles obtained after granulation into a separator by process water via a multi-stage pressure-release process water pipeline, separating, screening and drying the required particles to obtain the target product.
Flame-retardant thermoplastic material and expanded beads thereof
The invention relates to a flame-retardant thermoplastic material, comprising thermoplastic base resin, a flame retardant, and an optional antioxidant, wherein the flame retardant comprises a complex of phosphine oxide and a transition metal salt. The invention also relates to flame-retardant thermoplastic expanded beads. A foam molding prepared from the flame-retardant thermoplastic expanded beads has good flame-retardant and antistatic properties, has excellent mechanical properties and is widely used.
FLEXIBLE FOAM WITH HALOGEN-FREE FLAME RETARDANT
The invention relates to flame-retardant flexible polyurethane foams with phosphazene and to methods for producing PUR flexible foams by reacting a component A containing: A1, an isocyanate-reactive component, A2, a propellant containing water, A3, optionally auxiliary agents and additives, and A4, a flame retardant, with B, an isocyanate component.
