Foam body and method for manufacturing the same
The present invention provides a foam body suitable for producing a cultured meat having a good texture. The foam body of the present invention includes alginic acid and/or an alginate. The foam body has an elastic modulus M, as determined by a test, of 8×10.sup.4 Pa or less. In the test, the foam body is immersed in 22±3° C. water for 4 hours to prepare a specimen having a post-immersion thickness of 5±1 mm. Stress and strain caused in the specimen are measured by applying a load to the specimen for 5 seconds to compress the specimen in a thickness direction at 0.5 mm/sec. A stress caused in the specimen when the specimen is compressed by 10% of an initial thickness is determined, and a value obtained by dividing the stress by a corresponding strain is determined as the elastic modulus M.
Formulations for high porosity chemical mechanical polishing pads with high hardness and CMP pads made therewith
The present invention provides CMP polishing pads or layers having a unfilled Shore D (2 second) hardness of from 57-77 or a filled Shore D (2 second) hardness of from 18-50, made from a two-component reaction mixture of (i) a liquid aromatic isocyanate component comprising one or more aromatic diisocyanates or a linear aromatic isocyanate-terminated urethane prepolymer having an unreacted isocyanate (NCO) concentration of from 18 to 47 wt. %, based on the total solids weight of the aromatic isocyanate component, and (ii) a liquid polyol component including one or more curatives selected from the group of amines defined by Formulas (I) and (II).

Marker having enhanced ultrasound visibility and method of manufacturing the same
A method and system are used to enhance a marker material to include a plurality of air bubbles. The method of manufacturing a marker includes enhancing a marker material to include a plurality of air bubbles using at least a first EFD and a second EFD. The method may include cycling repeatedly through a transfer process between a first container and a second container. A system for enhancing a marker material includes a transfer apparatus configured to receive a marker material and a selected amount of air. The system comprises a first EFD coupled to a first end of the transfer apparatus and a second EFD coupled to a second end of the transfer apparatus.
Method for making light-blocking articles
A foamed, opacifying element useful as a light-blocking article is prepared with a dry opacifying layer on a substrate. The dry opacifying layer is densified, followed by application of a functional composition formulation to form a functional composition upon drying and curing at a coverage of 0.5-15 g/m.sup.2. The functional composition comprises at least: (i) glass particles such as hollow glass particles at a coverage of 0.1-2.2 g/cm.sup.2, and can also include any or combination of a (iv) water-soluble or water-dispersible organic polymeric binder that may be crosslinked, thickeners, coating aids having an HLB of at least 5, (ii) lubricants, (iii) tinting materials, and (v) crosslinking agents. Among other properties, the presence of the glass particles provides additional heat absorption for the foamed, opacifying elements that can be formed into light-blocking materials.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING SOLID FOAM, PRODUCT AND USE
The application relates to a method and apparatus for producing a solid foam continuously. A homogeneous suspension is formed from a raw material in which the suspension comprises a solidifying agent, and a foam mixture which comprises bubbles is formed by mixing air bubbles into the suspension. The foam mixture is injected via at least one nozzle to form a foam pattern and the foam pattern is laid on a moving surface and the foam mixture of the foam pattern is solidified in order to form a solid foam such that the bubbles of the foam mixture shrink in off-length directions to form the shaped bubbles. Further, the application relates to the product and the use of the method.
