Polymer composite foams
Foamed polymeric compositions containing clay nucleating agents are described. The clays are preferably sepiolite, palygorskite/attapulgite, or combinations thereof. Also described are processes for forming the foamed compositions. The resulting products find particular application as insulation and packaging materials.
SMOOTH MILLED POLYMERIC FOAM ARTICLE
Prepare an extruded polystyrene foam that is characterized by being a singular polymer foam that is free of halogenated blowing agents, having a milled primary surface, having a width of 750 millimeters or more, and further characterized by having a ρ(CST/CSP) value that is 50 kilograms per cubic meter or less and a milled primary surface.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ISOCYANATE-BASED FOAM CONSTRUCTION BOARDS
A process for producing a polyurethane or polyisocyanurate construction board, the process comprising (i) providing an A-side reactant stream that includes an isocyanate-containing compound; (ii) providing a B-side reactant stream that includes a polyol, where the B-side reactant stream includes a blowing agent that includes a pentane and a blowing agent additive that has a Hansen Solubility Parameter (δ.sub.t) that is greater than 17 MPa.sup.−0.5; and (iii) mixing the A-side reactant stream with the B-side reactant stream to produce a reaction mixture.
B2 RATED ONE COMPONENT SPRAY POLYURETHANE FOAM FORMULATION FOR FENESTRATION OPENINGS
A one component spray polyurethane foam formulation containing a polymeric isocyanate with nominal functionality of 2.5 to 3.5, a polyol component that is at least 85 percent aliphatic and having a mole ratio of polyol with three or more functionality to total polyol of 0.2 to 0.75, 15-30 wt % of a plasticizer, 1.5-3.5 wt % phosphorous, 5.5 to 11.5 halogen and 1.5 to 5 millimoles of blowing agent per gram of formulation and that is free of expandable graphite achieves a B2 rating in DIN 4102 testing.
Low pressure process for frothing polyurethane or polyisocyanurate
A process of making a polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam comprises the step of mixing under low pressure: (A) An isocyanate; (B) A compound reactive with the isocyanate, e.g., a polyol; (C) A liquid blowing agent; and (D) Carbon dioxide.
One component isocyanate prepolymer mixture for polyurethane product formulation in a single step process
A one component isocyanate prepolymer mixture for formulating a polyurethane product in a single step process, with monomeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) content in the mixture not exceeding 3%, preferably less than 2%, more preferably less than 1% of the total weight. The mixture contains monofunctional alcohol, an isocyanate component or isocyanate mixture component, propellant, catalyst, stabiliser, and one or more polyols. The monofunctional alcohol constitutes ethylene glycol ethers or propylene glycol ethers. A method for formulating a one component polyurethane foam on the basis of the mixture is disclosed.
Azeotrope-like compositions comprising trans-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene
An azeotrope-like mixture consisting essentially of chlorotrifluoropropene and at least one component selected from the group consisting of pentane, hexane, methanol, and trans-1,2-dichloroethene.
LOW DIELECTRIC CONSTANT SILICEOUS FILM MANUFACTURING COMPOSITION AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING CURED FILM AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE USING THE SAME
To provide a low dielectric constant siliceous film manufacturing composition capable of forming a low dielectric constant siliceous film with dispersed pores having excellent mechanical properties and stable electrical properties. [Means] The present invention provides a low dielectric constant siliceous film manufacturing composition comprising: a polysiloxane, a pore-generating material, a condensation catalyst generator, and a solvent.
Tetrafluoropropene based blowing agent compositions
The present invention relates to blowing agent compositions comprising tetrafluoropropene (HFO) and at least one co-blowing agent selected from carbon dioxide, water, alkanes and an alcohol used in the preparation of foamable thermoplastic compositions having low density. The HFOs include, but are not limited too, cis- and/or trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze), 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO 1234yf), or mixtures thereof. The blowing agent compositions are useful in the production of low density insulating foams with improved R value.
BLOWING AGENT COMPOSITIONS OF CARBON DIOXIDE AND HYDROCHLOROFLUOROOLEFINS
The present invention relates to blowing agent compositions of carbon dioxide and at least one hydrochlorofluoroolefin (HCFO). The HCFOs can include, but are not limited to, 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233zd), 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233xf) and mixtures thereof.
