Method of foaming a milled precursor
A method of making a foamed article comprises (a) milling a block or sheet of thermoplastic polymer to form a precursor; (b) crosslinking the thermoplastic polymer; (c) heating the precursor to a first temperature to soften the thermoplastic polymer; (d) infusing the thermoplastic polymer with at least one inert gas at a first pressure that is sufficient to cause the at least one inert gas to permeate into the softened thermoplastic polymer; and (e) while the thermoplastic polymer is softened, reducing the pressure to a second pressure below the first pressure to at least partially foam the precursor into a foamed article, wherein the foamed article is substantially the same shape as the precursor.
Soft actuator and methods of fabrication
Soft actuators are fabricated from materials that enable the actuators to be constructed with an open-celled architecture such as an interconnected network of pore elements. The movement of a soft actuator is controlled by manipulating the open-celled architecture, for example inflating/deflating select portions of the open-celled architecture using a substance such as compressed fluid.
FOAMED RESIN OBJECT
The present invention aims to provide a resin foam excellent in shock absorption properties and damping properties and less likely to cause sheet misalignment. Provided is a resin foam having a multitude of cells, the resin foam containing: a polyvinyl acetal; and a plasticizer, the resin foam having a loss tangent tan with a peak of 0.5 or higher in the range of 0 C. to 50 C. as determined by dynamic viscoelasticity measurement at a measurement frequency of 1 Hz, and the resin foam having a 23 C. compression set of 85% or lower.
Polyurethane gel particles, methods and use in flexible foams
Combinations of open cell flexible foams with polyurethane gel particles, and methods of making the combinations are described using a variety of procedures. The open cell flexible foam may partially or wholly comprise polyurethane foam and latex foam.
Preparing method of nerve conduits including cells
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a nerve conduit containing cells, more particularly to a method for preparing a porous nerve conduit containing cells, having micropores formed in microchannels, wherein the nerve conduit containing cells prepared according to the present invention can be usefully used in in-vitro and in-vivo researches on nerves.
Superabsorbent polymer and preparation method thereof
Provided are a superabsorbent polymer and a preparation method thereof. The superabsorbent polymer may effectively avoid a rewetting phenomenon after absorbing liquid, because a saline solution hardly remains in the empty spaces between swollen gel particles. Accordingly, the superabsorbent polymer may be used to provide hygienic materials, such as diapers, sanitary napkins, etc., which have a fluffy texture even after body fluid is discharged thereto.
Hydrophilic and biologically safe polymer foam as well as preparation method and application thereof
The present invention provides a method for preparing hydrophilic polymer foam. The method comprises a step of providing an isocyanate functionalized prepolymer (A) and a step of foaming and curing the prepolymer (A). The prepolymer (A) is prepared by reacting diisocyanate (A1) and polyether polyol (A2), wherein the diisocyanate (A1) is selected from any one and a combination of 1,4-butyl diisocyanate (BDI), lysine diisocyanate (LDI) and 1,5-pentyl diisocyanate (PDI); the polyether polyol (A2) is a copolymer of ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO) and/or butylene oxide (BO); the ethylene oxide has a weight percentage of about 50%-100% in the polyether polyol, and has an OH functionality degree of 3-6, a hydroxyl value of about 21 mg KOH/g-168 mg KOH/g and a number-average molecular weight of about 1000 g/mol to about 8000 g/mol; and NCO content in the prepolymer (A) is 1%-10%.

A rubber composition for vulcanization molding which can be manufactured into a rubber product with good dimensional stability, good appearance and sufficiently light weight, a process for manufacturing the same, and applications thereof. A rubber composition for vulcanization molding containing hollow particles and a base rubber, wherein the hollow particles are composed of a thermoplastic resin shell and a thermally vaporizable blowing agent encapsulated therein and have a specified further expansion ratio, and the base rubber has a Mooney viscosity ML (1+4) ranging from 5 to 90 at 100 C. Also disclosed is a process for manufacturing the rubber composition, hollow particles used for manufacturing the rubber composition, a masterbatch including the hollow particles and a rubber product manufactured from the rubber composition.
Reactive flame retardants for polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams
The present invention provides novel cyclic phosphorus-containing compounds, namely hydroxyl-functional phospholene-1-oxides, serving as highly efficient reactive flame retardants in urethane systems, particularly in flexible polyurethane foams, semi-rigid and rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams. The invention further provides fire-retarded polyurethane compositions comprising said hydroxyl-functional phospholene-1-oxides.
