Improved polysulfide sealant formulations, application of such sealants, and methods for reducing the density of polysulfide sealant formulations are disclosed.
ARTICLES CONTAINING EXPANDED POLY (TETRAMETHYL-p-SILPHENYLENESILOXANE) AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Poly(tetramethyl-p-silphenylenesiloxane) (PTMPS) membranes and porous articles made therefrom that have a matrix tensile strength in at least one direction from about 1 MPa to about 50 MPa, a matrix modulus greater than about 100 MPa in at least one direction, a porosity greater than about 30%, and a microstructure of nodes interconnected by fibrils are provided. The PTMPS polymer forming the PTMPS membranes and porous articles has a crystallinity of at least about 70%, a polydispersity from 1 to 5, and a weight average molecular weight from about 350 kDa to about 5 MDa. The PTMPS membranes may be asymmetric, meaning that the observed pore structure on one side of the PTMPS membrane is different than the pore structure on the opposing side of the PTMPS membrane. Methods of forming porous PTMPS articles are provided. Dense PTMPS articles and methods of making the same are also provided.
Foam composition and foam tape including foam layer including cured product thereof
The present invention relates to a foam composition and a foam tape including a foam layer including a cured product thereof.
POLYOLEFIN RESIN FOAM SHEET AND ADHESIVE TAPE
There is provided a polyolefin resin foam sheet having a plurality of cells which is formed by foaming a polyolefin resin, wherein, in the polyolefin resin foam sheet, the average cell sizes and the maximum cell sizes in the MD direction and the TD direction are each a predetermined value, and a ratio [TD strength at break/MD average cell size] and a ratio [MD strength at break/TD average cell size] are both 80 kPa/μm or more.
POLYOLEFIN RESIN FOAM SHEET AND ADHESIVE TAPE
There is provided a polyolefin resin foam sheet having a plurality of cells which is formed by foaming a polyolefin resin composition, wherein the polyolefin resin composition contains a polyolefin resin (A) having relatively high density and a polyolefin resin (B) having relatively low density, and the weighted average resin density of the polyolefin resin (A) and the polyolefin resin (B) is 0.900 g/cm.sup.3 or less; and wherein a ratio [TD strength at break/MD maximum cell size] and a ratio [MD strength at break/TD maximum cell size] are both 45 kPa/μm or more.
FOAMABLE HOT MELT GASKET SEALANTS AND USE THEREOF
The invention relates to a one-part, foamable hot melt gasket sealant. The foamable hot melt adhesive comprises greater than about 35 wt % of a rubber block copolymer, a tackifier and less than about 5 wt % of a wax. The foamable hot melt adhesive can be applied onto a space in between two mating surfaces without expensive foam-in-place equipment. The foamable hot melt gasket sealant is particularly suitable in automotive applications, electrical component and technical lighting sectors.
METHOD FOR CREATING A FOAMED MASS SYSTEM
A method for producing a foamed thermally crosslinked mass system, wherein the mass system is foamed at a first temperature in a first step, and crosslinker substances are added to the mass system in a subsequent step at a second temperature lower than the first temperature, wherein the crosslinker substances are crosslinker substances for thermal crosslinking of the mass system.
THERMALLY EXPANDABLE COMPOSITIONS
The present invention relates to a thermally expandable composition comprising at least one peroxidically crosslinking polymer which does not contain glycidyl (meth) acrylate as a monomer in copolymerized form; at least one polymer, which is polymerized with glycidyl (meth) acrylate as a monomer present in a proportion of from 2 to 20% by weight, based on the respective polymer; at least one peroxide; and at least one endothermic chemical propellant, moldings containing this composition, and a method for sealing and filling cavities in components, for reinforcing or stiffening components, in particular hollow components, and for bonding movable components using such molded bodies.
Foam and production method thereof
One object of the present invention is to provide a polyolefin resin foam which does not have a difference between the front side and the back side on the top and bottom surfaces which sandwich in the thickness direction the foam which is excellent in flexibility, buffer property, and heat insulation property despite its thinness, and which can be used suitably in the fields of architecture, electricity, electronics, vehicles, and the like as a variety of heat-resistant sealing materials. The surface hardness of the foam measured by a micro rubber hardness tester is 30° or more and 70° or less, and the centerline average roughness Ra75 of a first surface portion on one side of the foam in the thickness direction and of a second surface portion on the other side of the foam in the thickness direction is 5 μm or more and 20 μm or less.
