One component isocyanate prepolymer mixture for polyurethane product formulation in a single step process
A one component isocyanate prepolymer mixture for formulating a polyurethane product in a single step process, with monomeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) content in the mixture not exceeding 3%, preferably less than 2%, more preferably less than 1% of the total weight. The mixture contains monofunctional alcohol, an isocyanate component or isocyanate mixture component, propellant, catalyst, stabiliser, and one or more polyols. The monofunctional alcohol constitutes ethylene glycol ethers or propylene glycol ethers. A method for formulating a one component polyurethane foam on the basis of the mixture is disclosed.

Open and closed cell polyurea foams
An open cell spray polyurea foam for use in an insulation layer in a wall structure may include a polyurea. The polyurea may be a reaction product of an isocyanate compound and water. The open spray polyurea foam may also include a filler. The majority of the filler may exist in the spray foam formulation as an unreacted first fire retardant. The spray foam formulation may further comprise a second fire retardant, and the insulation layer may exhibit a fire retardancy sufficient to pass Appendix X and/or ASTM E-84.
Spray foams containing non-halogenated fire retardants
A spray foam formulation used to form a spray foam insulation layer in a wall structure is described. The formulation may include the reaction product of a polyisocyanate compound and a polyol compound; a fire retardant chosen from at least one of a non-halogenated fire retardant; and a reactive halogen-containing fire retardant, and a carbohydrate. The spray foam insulation layer has an insulative R value of 3.0 to 7.2 per inch, and a density of between about 0.3 to about 4.5 pcf. Further, spray foam insulation made from the spray foam formulation may have fire retardant characteristics that are equivalent to or better than a similar spray insulation foam insulation using non-reactive halogenated fire retardants such as tris(1-chloro-2-propyl)phosphate (TCPP).
HydroFluoro Olefin Propellant in a Polyurethane Foam Composition
A process and composition is described for the inclusion of polyether polyols in concentrations greater than 10% loading on the B-side formulation with a catalyst package less than 1% loading on the B-side formulation. In one specific example, the use of glycerin as a fluorine ion scavenger is utilized to improve performance of the polyurethane systems through a twelve-month shelf life.
URETHANE RESIN COMPOSITION AND BUILDING INSULATION METHOD
A urethane resin composition having properties suitable for forming a building insulation layer without adding a foam stabilizer in a urethane resin composition having at least quasi-incombustibility. A urethane resin composition for forming a foam that constitutes a insulation material for a building includes a foam having at least quasi-incombustibility in a heat-release test complying with ISO-5660, the urethane resin composition containing at least a polyisocyanate compound, an ester polyol compound, a trimerization catalyst, an additive, and a non-silicon surface adjuster, and by not containing a foam stabilizer, the additive including red phosphorus as an essential component and being combined with a phosphate-containing flame retardant and/or a chlorine-containing flame retardant.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A FLUOROOLEFIN
The present invention relates to compositions for use in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump systems wherein the composition comprises a fluoroolefin and at least one other component. The compositions of the present invention are useful in processes for producing cooling or heat, as heat transfer fluids, foam blowing agents, aerosol propellants, and fire suppression and fire extinguishing agents.

Foamable, insulating-layer-forming multi-component composition having improved storage stability and use of the same
A foamable, insulating-layer-forming multi-component composition contains alkoxysilane-functional polymer, insulating-layer-forming fire-protection additive, blowing-agent mixture, cross-linking agent, and a flame-protection agent that is miscible in water or another compound that is miscible in water. The individual ingredients of the blowing-agent mixture are separated from one another to ensure inhibition of reaction prior to use of the composition, and the cross-linking agent is separated from the alkoxysilane-functional polymer to ensure inhibition of reaction prior to use of the composition. The foamable, insulating-layer-forming multi-component composition can be used as a foam-in-place foam or for production of molded blocks.
