Systems and methods for making prepreg composite sheets including contoured charges
A system (100) for making a prepreg composite sheet (300) comprising contoured charges (308) comprises first means (102) for forming precursor outline regions (206) in a resin film layer (200). The system (100) also comprises second means (106) for impregnating a fiber reinforcement (220), comprising fibers (222), with the resin film layer (200), comprising the precursor outline regions (206), to form the prepreg composite sheet (300). The prepreg composite sheet (300), as so formed, comprises non-impregnated outline regions (310) that define the contoured charges (308). The non-impregnated outline regions (310) in the prepreg composite sheet (300) correspond to the precursor outline regions (206) in the resin film layer (200). The system (100) further comprises third means (104) for guiding the fiber reinforcement (220) and the resin film layer (200) to the second means (106). The resin film layer (200) comprises the precursor outline regions (206) formed by first means (102).
Shoe sole member and shoe
Provided is a shoe sole member partially or entirely made of a resin composite in which a plurality of resin foam particles, and one or a plurality of non-foamed elastic bodies having an initial elastic modulus at 23° C. being smaller than that of the resin foam particles are integrated together. Also provided is a shoe including the shoe sole member.
Textile product and a method of manufacturing a composite object therefrom
A textile product and a method of manufacturing a composite object therefrom includes interacting a granular material with a textile material, with the textile material impregnated with the elements of the granular material forming a textile product, and introducing the textile product into a molding process so as to form the composite object therefrom. The granular material includes elements including a matrix material having a plurality of reinforcing fibers received therein, the elements of the granular material having a melt viscosity of between about 5 and about 15 grams per 10 minutes and a particle size distribution with a range in particle size of between about 50 and about 595 micrometers.
PROCESS FOR FOAMING THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS
A foamed article is made by infusing the article of thermoplastic elastomer with a supercritical fluid, then removing the article from the supercritical fluid and either (i) immersing the article in a heated fluid or (ii) irradiating the article with infrared or microwave radiation.
POLYARYLETHER KETONE IMIDE SULFONE ADHESIVES
Aspects of the present disclosure generally describe polyarylether ketones and methods of use. In some aspects, a composition includes one or more polymers of formulae (I), (II), or (III):

Injection molded product and method for manufacturing same
In an injection molded product of the invention, an unevenness forming portion having unevenness formed by thermal expansion of thermally expandable capsules is formed. The injection molded product includes a highly expanded portion that is formed at a surface side of the unevenness forming portion in a thickness direction of the injection molded product and in which the thermally expandable capsules are thermally expanded, and a main body portion that is a portion adjacent to the highly expanded portion in the thickness direction and in which the thermally expandable capsules are substantially not thermally expanded. The thickness of the highly expanded portion is a half or smaller than the thickness of the injection molded product in the unevenness forming portion, and a polymer material of the highly expanded portion and a polymer material of the main body portion are the same polymer material.
BLOWING AGENT BLENDS FOR THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS
This invention relates to the use blends comprising HFO-1336mzz-Z, methyl formate, and optionally, HFC-152a as blowing agents for thermoplastic polymers (e.g., polystyrene).
BLOWING AGENT BLENDS FOR THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS
This invention relates to the use of HFO-1336mzz-Z/cyclopentane blends as blowing agents for thermoplastic polymers (e.g., polystyrene).
Electroconductive resin composition, method for manufacturing same and molded article obtained therefrom
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electroconductive resin composition that has excellent electroconductivity and high mechanical strength. The electroconductive resin composition according to the present invention comprises 75-99 parts by mass of a thermoplastic resin (A), 1-25 parts by mass of a carbon material (B), and more than 1 part by mass but not more than 10 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the thermoplastic resin (A) and the carbon material (B), of a modified polyolefin wax (C), wherein the carbon material (B) is a granular carbon material having an average grain diameter of 500 nm or less or a fibrous carbon material having an average fiber length of 1000 μm or less.
Modified resins and uses thereof
Modified thermoplastic hydrocarbon thermoplastic resins are provided, as well as methods of their manufacture and uses thereof in rubber compositions. The modified thermoplastic resins are modified by decreasing the relative quantity of the dimer, trimer, tetramer, and pentamer oligomers as compared to the corresponding unmodified thermoplastic resin polymers, resulting in a product that exhibits a greater shift in the glass transition temperature of the elastomer(s) used in tire formulations. This translates to better viscoelastic predictors of tire tread performance, such as wet grip and rolling resistance. The modified thermoplastic resins impart remarkable properties on various rubber compositions, such as tires, belts, hoses, brakes, and the like. Automobile tires incorporating the modified thermoplastic resins are shown to possess excellent results in balancing the properties of rolling resistance, tire wear, snow performance, and wet braking performance.
