ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING ARTICLES INCLUDING A COATING
The present disclosure is directed to articles that include a cured coating that includes a matrix of crosslinked polymers and optionally a colorant (e.g., pigment particles or dye or both). The cured coating can include a matrix of crosslinked polymers. The cured coating is a product of crosslinking a coating composition comprising uncrosslinked polymers (e.g., a dispersion of uncrosslinked polymers in a carrier to form the matrix of crosslinked polymers), wherein the uncrosslinked polymers are crosslinked to form the matrix of crosslinked polymers. The matrix of crosslinked polymers can be elastomeric. The present disclosure is also directed to articles including these bladders, methods of forming these bladders, and methods of making articles including these bladders, where the bladders include the cured coating.
FOAMS BASED ON THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS
The present invention relates to bead foams made of thermoplastic polyurethane and a polyolefins as component II, where the polyolefin consists of a mixture of II a) homopolypropylene, and II b polyethylenes, to moldings produced therefrom, to processes for the production of the bead foams and moldings, and also to the use of the moldings for shoe intermediate soles, shoe insoles, shoe combisoles, cushioning elements for shoes, bicycle saddles, bicycle tires, damping elements, cushioning, mattresses, underlays, grips, protective films, in components in the automobile-interior sector or automobile-exterior sector, balls and sports equipment, or as floorcovering.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING ARTICLES UTILIZING FOAM PARTICLES
Methods for manufacturing components of articles, including articles of footwear, apparel, and sporting equipment are provided. The disclosed methods comprise extruding a first composition comprising a plurality of foam particles suspended in a first material, wherein each particle of the plurality of foam particles is formed of a foamed second polymeric material; and solidifying the extruded first composition, forming a component. Also disclosed are first compositions comprising a first material and a plurality of foam particles comprising a foamed second polymeric material suspended in the first material. Articles and methods of manufacturing articles using the disclosed methods and compositions are also provided. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.
CROSSLINKED POLYOLEFIN FOAM HAVING LARGE CORE CELLS
A closed cell crosslinked polyolefin foam sheet comprises an opposing first surface region and second surface region, and an intermediate region disposed therebetween, wherein the intermediate region is configured to have a gel content lower than an average gel content of the first surface region and the second surface region to enable a controlled tear propagation within the intermediate region when a splitting force is applied to the closed cell crosslinked polyolefin foam sheet. For example, a ratio of a gel content of the intermediate region versus an average gel content of the first surface region and the second surface region may be about 75% or less, and a ratio of the average cell size of the intermediate region versus an average cell size of the first surface region and the second surface region may be about 125% or higher.
Articles including a porous elastomeric material with an integrated elastomeric material and methods of making same
Articles are provided, including a porous elastomeric material having a first major surface and an elastomeric material integrated into the first major surface of the porous elastomeric material. The elastomeric material coating the first major surface, a first portion of the elastomeric material being disposed within a plurality of pores defined by the first major surface of the porous elastomeric material and extending into the plurality of pores to a depth of at least 300 micrometers (μm), wherein the first portion of the elastomeric material provides fluid communication through the porous elastomeric material via holes formed in the elastomeric material extending into the thickness of the porous elastomeric material through the voids of the pores of the elastomeric material. A method of making an article is also provided.
Method for treating an elastomer packaging element, and packaging element thus treated
A method of treating an elastomer packaging element (10), in particular a stopper for medical or pharmaceutical use, the packaging element (10) having a bottom portion (11) that is to penetrate into a neck (21) of a container (20) and a top portion (12) that is to co-operate in sealed manner with a top surface (22) of said neck (21) of the container (20). The top surface of the top portion (12) is treated by a plasma-assisted polymerization method at atmospheric pressure using a plasma flame created at atmospheric pressure and into which a monomer is injected, the monomer polymerizing on the top surface in order to form a coating (18).
FOAMS BASED ON THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS
The present invention relates to bead foams made of thermoplastic polyurethane and polystyrene produced moldings, to processes for the production of the bead foams and moldings, and also to the use of the moldings for shoe intermediate soles, shoe insoles, shoe combisoles, or cushioning elements for shoes.
Polymer composition based on thermoplastic copolyester elastomer, manufactured article made with such polymer composition and production process of such polymer composition
The invention relates to a polymer composition based on thermoplastic copolyester elastomer comprising: —from 90% to 70% by weight of the thermoplastic copolyester elastomer containing ester and ether bonds; —from 5% to 25% by weight of one or more saturated esters with a molecular weight between about 200 and 1,000, and preferably between 300 and 380; —from 2 to 10% by weight of expanding additives. This invention also covers a manufactured article obtained by injection moulding a predefined amount of the polymer composition according to this invention, as well as a production process of such polymer composition.
