Process for moulding polymeric foam core sandwich articles
A process for producing a polymeric article is provided that includes: sequentially filling a female mould (11) with a first, second, and third batches, wherein the first and third batches include first and third polymeric materials (1p, 3p), and the second batch includes a second polymeric material (2p) and a blowing agent (2b), closing the thus filled cavity with a lid (12) to form a mould defining a closed cavity (10c) of constant volume in time, heating the mould (10) to a processing temperature, to melt the first, second, and third polymeric materials (1p-3p) and to expand the second polymer agent by activation of the blowing agent, cooling and removing the lid (12) to open the cavity and extracting the polymeric article. At least the second polymeric material (2p) includes at least 50 wt. % of recycled polymer in the form of shredded flakes.
Heat sealable polyester film
A heat sealable polyester film and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The heat sealable polyester film is made from a recycled polyester material. The heat sealable polyester film includes a base layer and a heat sealable layer formed on at least one surface of the base layer. The heat sealable layer is formed from a first polyester composition. A main component of the first polyester composition is regenerated polyethylene terephthalate and the first polyester composition further includes at least one of 1,4-butanediol, isophthalic acid, neopentyl glycol, and polybutylene terephthalate. A heat sealing temperature of the heat sealable polyester film ranges from 120? C. to 230? C.
Interlocking building blocks and mortarless interlocking building system
A building system including at least one block and further including at least one mortarless side panel including a finished outside surface and at least one dovetail protrusion on an opposing surface for joining the side panel to the at least one blocks, and a connector on each end of the panel for joining the side panel to other side panels, and at least one top cap including a finished top surface.
FOOTWEAR COMPONENT MANUFACTURING SYSTEM
A system including an injector, a press, and a robotic conveyance is used to form a physically foamed article of footwear component from a single-phase solution of a polymeric composition and a supercritical fluid. The parameters and features of the system are configured for the formation of the footwear component in an automated manner with enhanced throughput by the system.
Barrier film, methods of manufacture thereof and articles comprising the same
Disclosed herein is a recyclable barrier film comprising a first layer comprising high density polyethylene; and a barrier layer comprising a polymer other than polyethylene; where the polymer is operative to reduce the oxygen transmission rate through the barrier film relative to the oxygen transmission rate through the first layer; where the barrier layer is present in the barrier film in an amount of less than 5 weight percent, based on the total weight of the barrier film. Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing the disclosed barrier film.
Reversibly cross-linkable resin
Reversibly cross-linkable foam is provided. The reversibly cross-linked foam includes a first polymeric material, at least one reversibly cross-linkable monomer polymerized with the first polymeric material, and at least one blowing agent. The reversibly cross-linkable co-polymeric foam is thermally stable at temperatures of at least 10 degrees higher than otherwise identical polymeric foam that does not include the reversibly cross-linkable agent polymerized with the first polymeric material.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THERMALLY DEMANUFACTURING TIRES AND OTHER WASTE PRODUCTS
An apparatus and process for thermally de-manufacturing tires and other materials. The apparatus is a retort chamber with various zones in which tires are combusted to provide energy for the thermal depolymerization reaction, depolymerization takes place, and products leave the retort chamber. In one embodiment, the process reacts water with iron present in steel-belted tires to produce hydrogen, which helps to break sulfur-sulfur bonds in vulcanized materials. The water also helps control the temperature of the reaction, which allows for control over the types and relative amounts of the various depolymerization products.
ENZYMATIC DEGRADATION OF SEMI-CRYSTALLINE POLYMERS AND PLASTIC WASTE CONTAINING SEMI-CRYSTALLINE POLYMERS
The present disclosure is related to systems and methods of enzymatic degradation of crystallizable polymers or copolymers and PC/IPM containing crystallizable polymers or copolymers.
FILLED POLYMERIC RESIN MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING
The present disclosure provides for articles formed of a filled polymeric resin material. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to polymeric resin materials that include a filler that includes of a mixture of cured rubber granules, foam granules, and/or textile fibers. The filler can be suspended in and/or encapsulated by the polymeric resin material. The polymeric resin material, the filler, or both can include waste or scrap material from manufacturing or from ground post-consumer waste.
Reducing surface and bulk contamination in plastic
The present invention generally relates to a method of reducing contamination from plastics. The resulting purer plastic can be used in demanding applications.
