METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WET RUBBER MASTERBATCH, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RUBBER COMPOSITION, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TIRE
A method of manufacturing a wet rubber masterbatch includes preparing latex containing magnesium in an amount which is not greater than 150 ppm; and making a liquid mixture that includes a rubber component and carbon black. The latex may include rubber particles for which the 90 vol % particle diameter is not greater than 2 m. The liquid mixture can be made by a step (a) in which the latex and a dispersion solvent are mixed; and a step (b) in which a latex solution obtained at step (a) and a slurry containing the carbon black are mixed. The method for manufacturing a wet rubber masterbatch may satisfy: 0.1<b/a<1.0, where a indicates amount (ppm) of magnesium present in latex; and b indicates amount (parts by mass) of carbon black in the liquid mixture for every 100 parts by mass of rubber component in the liquid mixture.
Elastomer composite blends, method and apparatus for producing same
A wet mix elastomer composite comprising carbon black dispersed in an elastomer including a blend of a natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber. When the wet mix elastomer composite is processed with CTV Method 1, the vulcanized wet mix elastomer composite exhibits a resistivity that A) has a natural logarithm satisfying the equation ln(resistivity)0.1(loading)+x, where x is 14, or B) is at least 2.9 times greater than the resistivity of a vulcanized dry mix elastomer composite having the same composition and prepared using Comparative CTV Method 1.
PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING WET RUBBER MASTERBATCH AND RUBBER COMPOSITION
A process for producing a wet rubber masterbatch yielded by using, as raw materials, at least a filler, a dispersing solvent, and a rubber latex solution, comprises a step (i) of mixing the filler, the dispersing solvent and the rubber latex solution with each other to produce a filler-containing rubber latex solution, a step (ii) of solidifying the filler-containing rubber latex solution to produce a filler-containing rubber solidified product, and a step (iii) of dehydrating the filler-containing rubber solidified product to produce the wet rubber masterbatch. At the time of representing the temperature of the filler-containing rubber solidified product before the dehydration in the step (iii) by T1 ( C.), and representing the temperature of the filler-containing rubber solidified product after the dehydration by T2 ( C.), the following expressions (1) and (2) are satisfied:
T1100(1)
80T2T1160(2).
ELASTOMER COMPOUNDS REINFORCED WITH SILICA AND PRODUCTS CONTAINING SAME
A silica elastomer composite having superior mechanical properties.
Methods of Processing Latex, Methods of Making Carpet, and Carpets
Methods are provided for processing a latex stream that include adding an isocyanate to a foam head that converts the latex stream to a foamed latex stream. A curing agent also may be added to the foam head. Also provided are methods of making a carpet that include disposing a foamed latex stream that includes an isocyanate onto a carpet fabric, or a support material to form a carpet backing. Carpets made by the methods herein also are provided.
POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND PRODUCTS FORMED THEREWITH
The present disclosure provides compositions and products formed therefrom. In particular, the disclosure provides elastomeric latex articles, such as gloves and condoms, that can be prepared utilizing a styrene-polyisoprene-styrene (SIS) latex. The elastomeric articles can exhibit desired tensile properties while being substantially or completely free of undesired components, such as sulfur and zinc oxide, which can be allergens. The disclosure further provides methods of preparing elastomeric latex articles.
