DETECTABLE AND MULTI DETECTABLE ARTICLES

This application relates to elastomeric articles such as gloves, compositions for producing the articles and methods for their manufacture. The elastomeric articles contain particles for detectability of the articles (or portions thereof) by metal detectors and/or x-ray detectors. The articles may contain magnetic particles, highly conductive particles, or high atomic mass element-containing particles, and a viscosity modifier to ensure dispersion of the particles throughout the film layer in which the particles are present. The particles may be magnetic particles specifically, and may be coated by a corrosion inhibitor coating.

The articles may contain two different types of particlesone particle type is selected from magnetic particles, highly conductive particles or a combination, and the second particle type is particles containing one or more high atomic mass elements (with an atomic mass of at least 132). The particles may be coated by a corrosion inhibitor coating, or they may be uncoated. The compositions for producing the articles may contain a viscosity modifier.

POLYSACCHARIDE-ELASTOMER MASTERBATCH COMPOSITIONS

Disclosed herein are polysaccharide-elastomer masterbatch compositions and processes for preparing the masterbatch compositions. One method comprises a step of a) mixing i) an aqueous polysaccharide dispersion, or ii) a basic aqueous polysaccharide solution, with a rubber latex solution containing a rubber component to form a mixture. The method further comprises the steps of: b) coagulating the mixture obtained in step a) to produce a coagulated mass; and c) drying the coagulated mass obtained in step b). The masterbatch compositions are useful in preparing rubber-containing articles.

STRUCTURE

Provided is a structure having excellent flexibility represented by elastic restoring from compression or tensile elongation at break, and excellent lightness. A structure according to the present invention includes reinforced fibers, first plastic, and second plastic that exhibits rubber elasticity at room temperature, the reinforced fibers being discontinuous fibers, and the first plastic and/or the second plastic coating a crossing point between the reinforced fibers in contact with each other.

The polychloroprene latex composition contains a chloroprene (co)polymer (A) and an aromatic compound (B) having 7 to 10 carbon atoms, and the polychloroprene latex composition has a proportion of the aromatic compound (B) having 7 to 10 carbon atoms of 0.0012 to 0.15 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of solid content of the polychloroprene latex composition.

Elastomeric chemical barrier articles

Provided among other things is an elastomeric article providing a chemical barrier, the article having a layered structure comprising a sequential laminate of: (a) a latex-based elastomeric polymeric barrier layer; (b) a non-reactive tie adhesive resin layer comprising oxo ((C?O)) groups; and (c) a polyamide layer; wherein the layered structure has a first side nearest the latex-based elastomeric polymeric barrier layer and a second side; wherein the layered structure is effective to provide a chemical permeation time in excess of 100 minutes pursuant to EN 16523-1:2015 for benchmark solvents of acetone, ethyl acetate and methanol, when applied to the first side, and in excess of 100 minutes for acetone when applied to the second side; and wherein the elastomeric layer is primarily not polyolefin.

VULCANISED TUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A VULCANISED TUBE

Vulcanized tube having at least one foamed layer of elastomer material with a cellular structure with an average cell size in a range between 5 and 200 microns and the number of cells per unit of volume in a range between 1.9?10.sup.5 and 1.4?10.sup.9 cells/cm.sup.3. To form the tube, a forming device is inserted into an unvulcanized tube obtained in a prior initial stage of extrusion. At least one foaming agent is added to the elastomer material of the foamed layer in the initial stage of extrusion, such that the tube is vulcanized and the foamed layer is also simultaneously foamed. The vulcanizing process is carried out under pressure. Finally, in a stage of removal, the already vulcanized and foamed tube is removed from the forming device.
