The invention includes a method of bonding a perfluoroelastomer material to first surface that includes: (a) contacting a first surface with a bonding agent comprising a curable perfluoropolymer and a curing agent; (b) curing the bonding agent to form a perfluoroelastomer material that is bonded to the first surface. In the practice of such method, the bonding agent may be a solution prepared by dissolving the curable perfluoroelastomer and the curing agent in a solvent. In an embodiment of the invention, the perfluoroelastomer material formed in step (b) is a coating layer or, alternatively, the first surface is a surface of a perfluoroelastomer member and the perfluoroelastomer material formed is a perfluoroelastomer weld.
MODIFIED DIENE-CONTAINING (CO)POLYMER, METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF AND USE AS A FLAME RETARDANT
Disclosed herein are modified diene-containing (co)polymers, in particular, modified styrene-butadiene copolymer, which can be used as flame retardants for expandable polystyrene polymer compositions. In particular, disclosed is a modified diene-containing (co)polymer, a method for preparing it, and use as a flame retardant for expandable polystyrene. The modified diene-containing (co)polymer claimed in the invention is characterized by high thermostability, namely, a 5% weight loss temperature of at least 180° C., a molecular weight of at least 1500 g/mol and a halogen content of at least 35 wt. %; the content of tertiary and/or allyl halogenides is in the range from 0 to less than 1.5 wt. %, and also does not affect the polymerization process and the formation of polystyrene granules either, and allows to obtain polystyrene granules with a yellowness index of 2 to 6 units, comparable to the yellowness index of polystyrene granules containing HBCD (from 0 to 3 units).
MERCAPTANE-MODIFIED POLYCHLOROPRENE LATEX AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
To provide a polychloroprene latex from which a dip-formed film that is excellent in mechanical properties while having flexibility can be obtained. The polychloroprene latex is a mercaptan-modified polychloroprene latex comprising polychloroprene that is a copolymer of chloroprene and 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene, wherein in a solid state 13C NMR spectrum of the polychloroprene obtained by freeze-drying the mercaptan-modified polychloroprene latex, an area (A) of a peak at 126.2 to 127.6 ppm, an area (B) of a peak at 122.0 to 126.2 ppm and an area (C) of a peak at 129.9 to 130.3 ppm are in the ranges represented by the following expression (I), an amount of the 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene copolymerized is 4 to 35% by mass per 100% by mass in total of the chloroprene and the 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene contained in the polychloroprene, and a toluene-insoluble content of the polychloroprene is 50 to 100% by mass in 100% by mass of the polychloroprene.
Cross-linked rubber and production method therefor
Provided is a cross-linked rubber that can improve long-term sealing properties of a seal member in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. The cross-linked rubber is obtained through cross-linking of a cross-linkable rubber composition containing a fluororubber, carbon black, one or more carbon nanotubes, and an organic peroxide cross-linker, and has a 50% modulus of 5 MPa or more, a compression set (230° C., 500 hours) of 80% or less, and a rate of change of elongation at break between before and after a heat aging test (230° C., 72 hours) of not less than −10% and not more than 10%.
