Polymer interlayers having improved optical properties
An interlayer comprised of a thermoplastic resin, at least one high refractive index plasticizer and, optionally, a conventional plasticizer. The use of a thermoplastic resin, a high refractive index plasticizer, and, optionally, a conventional plasticizer reduces or minimizes the optical defects caused by different refractive indices without sacrificing other characteristics of the interlayer.

There is provided an interlayer film for laminated glass with which the visible light transmittance and the heat resistance of the laminated glass can be heightened. The interlayer film for laminated glass according to the present invention includes an organic coloring matter containing a transition element, a metal element which is different from a metal element contained in a metal oxide particle and different from a transition element, a thermoplastic resin and a plasticizer.

An interlayer film for a laminated glass that provides excellent vibration damping performance at high temperature and excellent sound insulation in a wide temperature range. The interlayer film contains a part A containing a resin composition A or a resin A and a part B containing a resin composition B or a resin B, and the part A and the part B are horizontally arranged. The interlayer film has a difference between temperatures Ta and Tb of 10 C. or larger when the temperature Ta is a temperature at which the resin composition A or the resin A shows a maximum loss tangent of a dynamic viscoelasticity at a frequency of 1 Hz, and the temperature Tb is a temperature at which the resin composition B or the resin B shows a maximum loss tangent of a dynamic viscoelasticity at a frequency of 1 Hz.
THIN FILMS COMPRISING PLASTICIZER-FREE POLYVINYL-CO-ACETAL
Polyvinyl-co-acetal films having a thickness of 1 m to 1000 m and containing less than 10 wt. % plasticizer are suitable for use as a hot melt in molding operations, exhibiting shorter cycle times as compared to conventional polyvinyl acetals. The polyvinyl-co-acetals are obtained by reacting at least one polyvinyl alcohol with at least two different aliphatic keto compounds, each containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms.
Polyvinyl acetal composition
A composition including 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl acetal and 30 to 70 parts by mass of a plasticizer including 0.5 to 100% by mass of a plasticizer containing a polar group and 0 to 99.5% by mass of a plasticizer containing no polar group, a total of the plasticizer containing a polar group and the plasticizer containing no polar group being 100% by mass. When the polyvinyl acetal is analyzed by HPLC using an ODS column having an inner diameter of 4 mm and a length of 1 cm, the polyvinyl acetal exhibits a first peak and a second peak derived from polyvinyl acetals. In addition, a laminated product of a layer including a polyvinyl acetal and a layer including a hydrocarbon-based polymer.
FOAM COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING POLYLACTIC ACID POLYMER, POLYVINYL ACETATE POLYMER AND PLASTICIZER, ARTICLES, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
Foam compositions are provided including a polylactic acid polymer; second (e.g., polyvinyl acetate) polymer having a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of at least 25 C.; and plasticizer. Also described are articles comprising the foam compositions, such as a sheet or hearing protection article. Methods of making and using the foam compositions are further described herein.

An interlayer filling material for a touch panel which is used for filling an interlayer space between a touch panel and another component or an interlayer space between transparent conductive films included in the touch panel in production of a personal digital assistant, which is excellent in followability to steps of a decorative printing portion or wiring upon filling of an interlayer space (lamination) and also excellent in defoaming properties to release air bubbles entrapped during filling of an interlayer space (lamination) or air bubbles left near the steps, which is less likely to be whitened and less likely to deteriorate an ITO film even under a high-temperature and high-humidity environment. The present invention also aims to provide a laminate produced using the interlayer filling material for a touch panel. The interlayer filling material includes: a polyvinyl acetal; a plasticizer; and an organic acid.
Split crosslinked polyolefin foam composition and method
A process for producing split crosslinked polyolefin sheets comprises producing a crosslinked polyolefin foam sheet having an opposing first surface region and second surface region, and an intermediate region disposed therebetween, wherein the intermediate region is configured to have a gel content lower than an average gel content of the first surface region and the second surface region, and an average cell size larger than an average cell size of the first surface region and the second surface region; and applying a splitting force to the crosslinked foam sheet such that a controlled tear propagation travels through the intermediate region until a first side of the crosslinked polyolefin foam sheet and a second side of the crosslinked polyolefin foam sheet are separated to produce two split polyolefin foam sheets. The split crosslinked polyolefin foam sheets may comprise a skin side comprising a closed cell surface, and a split side comprising an open cell surface having peak heights of about 150 ?m to about 550 ?m.
CONTACT LENSES WITH A LUBRICIOUS COATING THEREON
The invention is generally related to a soft contact lens which comprises a hydrogel lens body and a coating of a hydrophilic copolymer thereon and to a method for producing the same. The hydrogel lens body comprises or is made of a polymeric material having 1,2- and/or 1,3-diol moieties, and the hydrophilic copolymer comprises arylborono-containing repeating units each having a boronic acid group. The coating is covalently-attached to the hydrogel lens body through cyclic boronic ester linkages each formed between one boronic acid group and one 1,2-diol or 1,3-diol group. The soft contact lens has a surface lubricity higher than the surface lubricity of the lens body.
Intermediate film for laminated glass and laminated glass
There is provided an interlayer film for laminated glass with which any of the anti-glare property, light resistance and visibility in a dark place of laminated glass can be enhanced. The interlayer film for laminated glass according to the present invention includes a thermoplastic resin and has a ratio Ls/Ls of the relative scotopic vision luminance Ls to the relative photopic vision luminance Ls to be greater than or equal to 1.0 at the time of preparing laminated glass with two sheets of clear glass in accordance with JIS R3202 (1996), and the interlayer film for laminated glass according to the present invention preferably includes at least one kind of ingredient among a phthalocyanine compound, a naphthalocyanine compound, an anthracyanine compound and an indanthrene compound which have a maximum absorption wavelength greater than or equal to 550 nm and less than or equal to 750 nm.
