IONIC POLYMER MEMBRANE FOR A CARBON DIOXIDE ELECTROLYZER
Described herein is a process for the reduction of carbon dioxide comprising: providing an electrochemical device comprising an anode, a cathode, and a polymeric anion exchange membrane therebetween, wherein the polymeric anion exchange membrane comprises an anion exchange polymer, wherein the anion exchange polymer comprises at least one positively charged group selected from a guanidinium, a guanidinium derivative, an N-alkyl conjugated heterocyclic cation, or combinations thereof; introducing a composition comprising carbon dioxide to the cathode; and applying electrical energy to the electrochemical device to effect electrochemical reduction of the carbon dioxide.
Enzyme-mediated free radical initiating systems for the production of hydrogels and controlled radical polymerization processes
The present disclosure describes, in part, an enzyme-mediated radical initiating system and methods of using the system to produce polymers, including polymeric hydrogels, at ambient conditions.
ARTICLES COMPOSED OF ANHYDROUS POLYELECTROLYTE COMPLEXES AND THEIR USE AS DRYING AGENTS
Described herein are articles comprising an anhydrous polyelectrolyte complex comprising an interpenetrating network of at least one positively charged polyelectrolyte polymer and at least one negatively charged polyelectrolyte polymer. The articles described herein are effective drying agents with respect to removing water from solvents and gasses. Also described herein are methods for making and using the articles described herein.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMPOSITE RADIUS FILLERS
A composite radius filler material is provided. The composite radius filler includes a resin, a first group of fibers dispersed within the resin, and a second group of fibers dispersed within the resin. The first group of fibers has a first length configured to facilitate orientation in a longitudinal direction. The second group of fibers has a second length that is shorter than the first length, with the second group of fibers configured to facilitate random orientation in a transverse direction.
RESIN COMPOSITION, PREPREG, FILM WITH RESIN, SHEET OF METAL FOIL WITH RESIN, METAL-CLAD LAMINATE, AND PRINTED WIRING BOARD
A resin composition contains: a curable resin (A); an acrylic-monomer copolymer (B) having a structure expressed by formulae (1) to (3) and having a weight average molecular weight equal to or greater than 10,000 and equal to or less than 900,000; an inorganic filler (C) where a molybdenum compound is present on at least a part of a surface thereof; and another inorganic filler (D) different from the inorganic filler (C). R1 is either a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. R2 includes at least one of a glycidyl group or an epoxidized alkyl group which is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, the glycidyl group, and the epoxidized alkyl group. R3 is either a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. R4 is Ph (phenyl group), COOCH.sub.2Ph, or COO(CH.sub.2).sub.2Ph.
NITROGEN-CONTAINING MULTICOMPONENT COPOLYMER, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, ANIONIC RESIN, AND ANION EXCHANGE MEMBRANE
An anitrogen-containing multicomponent copolymer is provided, and includes at least two of a chain segment I, a chain segment II, and a chain segment III. A structural formula of the chain segment I is represented by
##STR00001##
where Ar.sub.1 is an aryl structural unit. A structural formula of the chain segment II is represented by
##STR00002##
where Ar.sub.2 is an aryl structural unit. A structural formula of the chain segment III is represented by
##STR00003##
where Ar.sub.3 is an aryl structural unit.
