The present disclosure relates a low-toxicity flame-retardant polyolefin-based insulating resin composition, a low-toxicity flame-retardant polyolefin-based insulated electric cable, and a method of manufacturing the insulated electric cable. The low-toxicity flame-retardant polyolefin-based insulating resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of a base resin and 120 to 140 parts by weight of a flame retardant. The base resin includes 20% to 40% by weight of polyethylene ethyl acrylate, 20% to 40% by weight of polyolefin elastomer, and 30% to 40% by weight of a linear low-density polyethylene resin grafted with maleic anhydride. The flame retardant is magnesium hydroxide that is surface-treated with a silane coupling agent. With the use of the composition, the low-toxicity flame-retardant insulated wire exhibiting good electrical insulation and anti-scratch characteristics and having good appearance can be obtained.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a safer polyolefin microporous membrane; a storage device separator, storage device assembly kit, and storage device using the polyolefin microporous membrane; and a storage device. In one embodiment, the polyolefin microporous membrane comprises at least one of each of layer A and layer B, polyolefin contained in at least one of layer A and layer B has one or more types of functional groups, and a crosslinked structure is formed by (1) the functional groups undergoing condensation reactions with each other, (2) the functional group reacting with a chemical substance inside the storage device, or (3) the functional group reacting with a different type of functional group, after accommodation in the storage device. In another embodiment, the polyolefin contained in at least one of layer A and layer B has one or more types of functional groups, and the functional groups include functional groups that undergo a condensation reactions with each other inside the storage device to form a crosslinked structure by siloxane bond.

Oxygen scavenging polymeric compositions that possess an improved oxygen scavenging capability and can be formed into transparent/translucent thin films are disclosed. A composition can include iron powder, ferrous sulfate heptahydrate (FeSO.sub.4.7H.sub.2O) and glycerol dispersed in polyethylene. Such compositions are useful for creating packaging films with improved oxygen scavenging capability.
