STAINABLE THERMOFORMABLE SHEETS, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
The present disclosure describes thermoformable sheets capable of retaining an absorbing stain, pigmented sealer or clear sealer. The unique resin binder formulations and products include porosity-promoting agents that result in the resin binder having a porous surface capable of being stained, while still having the favorable properties of traditional Thermofoil products. The methods of the invention produce a Thermofoil product that can be stained with a variety of stains and colorants after manufacturing to suit the individual builder's or homeowner's preference.
PROCESS FOR REGENERATING A MONOLITHIC, MACRO-STRUCTURAL, INTER-PENETRATING ELASTOMER NETWORK MORPHOLOGY FROM GROUND TIRE RUBBER PARTICLES
Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.
Compositions and Foam Compositions Containing Composite Particles, Articles, Composite Particles, and Methods
Compositions are provided including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic nitrogen-containing matrix material and composite particles distributed in the matrix material. The composite particles each include a chemical blowing agent particle encapsulated within a shell including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic material. The uncrosslinked thermoplastic material exhibits at least a certain minimum complex viscosity at a decomposition temperature of the chemical blowing agent particle. Also described are foam compositions and particles including the foam compositions, such as a sheet or multilayer construction. Composite particles are further provided. Methods of making the foam compositions are additionally described herein. Also, polishing pads, polishing systems, and methods of polishing a substrate are provided.
Thermoplastic Elastomer Composition, Joint Member, and Method for Producing the Same
A joint member having a thermoplastic elastomer composition including components (A), (B), and (C). Component (A): a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer including at least two polymer blocks composed primarily of a vinyl aromatic compound and at least one polymer block including butadiene, wherein, in the hydrogenated product of the block copolymer, a proportion of a hydrogenated product (A1) of a block copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 300,000 or more is 30% to 100% by mass, Component (B): a hydrocarbon rubber softener, Component (C): a polypropylene resin, Component (D): a crosslinking agent.
SOFT TOUCH MATERIAL
The disclosure generally relates to compositions of a soft touch material, and methods of preparing the compositions thereof. The compositions are suitable for use in apparatuses such as wearable devices, e.g., in-ear earpieces.
FILM, LAMINATED BODY, METHOD OF PRODUCING FILM, TIRE, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING TIRE
Provided is a thin film with good durability that is easy to handle during storage and use. The film contains, as a rubber component, at least a copolymer having a conjugated diene unit, a non-conjugated olefin unit, and an aromatic vinyl unit, and having a proportion of a butylene unit of 0 mol %, where a filler content is 15 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, no cross-linking agent is contained, and the thickness is 300 μm or less.
Foam compositions and uses thereof
Components for articles of footwear and athletic equipment are provided including a foam. A variety of foams and foam components and compositions for forming the foams are provided. In some aspects, the foams and components including the foams can have exceptionally high energy return while also having improved durability and softness. In particular, midsoles including the foams are provided for use in an article of footwear. Methods of making the compositions and foams are provided, as well as methods of making an article of footwear including one of the foam components. In some aspects, the foams and foam components can be made by injection molding or injection molding followed by compression molding.
Styrenic Block Copolymers and Methods of Preparation Thereof
A hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer (HSBC) is disclosed comprising, prior to hydrogenation, a polymer block A of at least one vinyl aromatic monomer, a polymer block B of at least one conjugated diene, and a copolymer block C of at least one vinyl aromatic monomer and 1,3-butadiene monomer. The HSBC has a total vinyl aromatic content of 15 to 60 wt. % and an aromatic blockiness index of 20 to 80%. The viscoelastic properties of HSBC show a value of a tan δ peak height of 0.7 to 2, a tan δ peak temperature of −40 to 25° C., and a temperature width value (in ° C.) at half the tan δ peak height of 17 to 40. The HSBC provides improved mechanical properties and can be used in preparation of adhesives and protective films applications.
THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE PHASE-CHANGE COMPOSITION, METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF, AND ARTICLES INCLUDING THE COMPOSITION
A thermally conductive phase-change composition includes a mixture of 5 to 25 weight percent thermoplastic polymer; 20 to 45 weight percent phase-change material; and 30 to 65 weight percent thermally conductive particles, wherein weight percent is based on the total weight of the composition and totals 100 weight percent, and wherein thermal conductivity of the composition is at least 3.0 W/m-K at a temperature below the transition temperature of the phase change material and thermal conductivity of the composition is at least 2.0 W/m-K at a temperature above the transition temperature of the phase change material, wherein thermal conductivity is determined in accordance with ASTM E1530.
