Crosslinked polymeric composition and its use in additive manufacturing

A crosslinked polymeric composition comprising a base polymer containing unconjugated carbon-carbon double bonds of the formula CR.sup.aCR.sup.b, wherein a portion of said unconjugated carbon-carbon double bonds in said base polymer are interconnected by a crosslinker (L) as shown in the following structure: ##STR00001##
wherein: R.sup.a and R.sup.b are independently selected from hydrogen atom and hydrocarbon groups, wherein R.sup.a and R.sup.b may optionally interconnect to form a ring; x represents the molar percentage of segments that are linked with the linker L throughout the crosslinked polymeric composition; L is a crosslinker having the formula: SR.sup.1-L.sup.a-R.sup.2-L.sup.b-R.sup.1S; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from hydrocarbon linking groups containing at least one carbon atom; L.sup.a and L.sup.b independently represent dynamic reversible crosslinking groups; and Z.sup.a and Z.sup.b independently represent remaining portions of the base polymer.

STAINABLE FINISH FOIL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE

The present disclosure describes a stainable finish foil, and methods of preparing a stainable finish foil, with a two-layer top coating to provide a multi-dimensional staining effect that more-closely mimics the grain appearance of solid wood veneer or solid wood. When designed for use with water-based stains, the top coating typically includes wetting agents to provide a contact angle of 90 or less.

Treatment of parts by vaporized solvent

A method is described in which a part is placed within a chamber. Vaporized solvent is provided within the chamber such that the solvent condenses onto and treats the part. A vacuum is then applied to the chamber to extract the solvent and stop the treatment. The vacuum is controlled such that a pressure within the chamber over time has a predefined profile to prevent defects in the part from occurring due to the extraction of solvent from the part.

EXPANDABLE THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER PARTICLES WITH A CONTENT OF RECYCLED MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

The invention relates to expandable polymer particles with a content of recycled material based on styrene polymers, to a method for producing same, and to the use of the expandable polymer particles in a molded foam part. The expandable polymer particles contain 10 to 99 wt. %, based on the total weight, of at least one recycled material (A), which comprises at least one styrene polymer (A-1) and which largely consists of styrene polymers. 1 to 10 wt. %, based on the total weight, of at least one propellant (C), and optionally at least one primary polymer (B), at least one nucleating agent (D), and/or at least one additive (E).

Method for improving adhesion between metallization layers and ozone-etched plastics

A method of metallizing plastic parts, the method comprising the steps of: (a) etching a plastic part, by introducing the plastic part into an aqueous, acidic ozone etching solution, (b) metallizing the ozone etched, plastic part, and (c) heating the metallized part in an oven at an elevated temperature for a period of time. The ozone-etched and metallized plastic part after being heated in the oven exhibits increased peel strength and improved adhesion.
