LIQUID CRYSTAL POLYESTER RESIN, LIQUID CRYSTAL POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION, FORMED PRODUCT, LAYERED BODY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL POLYESTER RESIN FILM, AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
A liquid crystal polyester resin comprising 42 to 80 mol % of structural unit (I) relative to 100 mol % of the total structural unit of the liquid crystal polyester resin, and ΔS (entropy of melting) defined by equation [1] is 0.01×10.sup.−3 to 2.7×10.sup.−3 J/g.Math.K:
ΔS(J/g.Math.K)=ΔHm(J/g)/Tm(K) [1]
wherein Tm is an endothermic peak temperature determined by: after observation of an endothermic peak temperature (Tm.sub.1) observed when heating a liquid crystal polyester under temperature rising conditions of 20° C./minute from room temperature in differential scanning calorimetry, the liquid crystal polyester was maintained at a temperature of Tm.sub.1+20° C. for 5 minutes, followed by observation of the endothermic peak temperature observed when the temperature has fallen to room temperature under temperature falling conditions of 20° C./minute and then raised under temperature rising conditions of 20° C./minute, and ΔHm is an endothermic peak area of Tm:

NANOCOMPOSITE COATING SYSTEM VIA ONE-STEP CO-ASSEMBLY
The invention relates to a nanocomposite coating system that exhibits superior barrier properties for reducing the ingress of unwanted guest species such as moisture (e.g., water vapor) and a facile method for preparing the same nanocoating system on an industrial scale. The current coating materials are able to reduce the overall ingress of unwanted guest species in a substantial improvement over the prior art.
Additive manufacturing
The present application describes apparatus (100) for colouring an additively manufactured polymer part, comprising a chamber (106) for locating at least one additively manufactured polymer part (105) to be coloured, a first reservoir (102) for containing dye pigment particles to be suspended in a gas, and fluidly coupled to the chamber, and a further reservoir (104) for containing a solvent vapour, and fluidly coupled to the chamber. A method of colouring an additively manufactured polymer part is also described.
Reduced density thermoplastics
The instant application discloses, among other things, ways to manufacture reduced density thermoplastics. A rapid foaming process which may create a polymer product by saturating thermoplastic sheet or preforms, heating, and then forming into final shape, is described. The polymer product may include an integral solid skin. This method may be utilized with any thermoplastic. The material handling, saturation methods, and end products are also described.
HYDROLYSIS STABLE COMPOSITIONS FOR FILMS IN SOLAR CELLS
The present invention relates to polyester and carbodiimide containing transparent films for solar cells, which are characterized by improved resistance to hydrolysis, and also to the solar cells comprising these films. The carbodiimides have a number-average molar mass M.sub.n of >1000 to <2000 g/mol, determined by GPC, measured in tetrahydrofuran (THF) against polystyrene as standard.
Polyester containing 4-hydroxybutyrate unit
A medical material comprising film obtained from a polyester wherein the polyester has a weight average molecular weight of 1,250,000 or greater determined by gel permeation chromatography calibrated with polystyrene standards. The polyester comprises a 3-hydroxybutyrate unit and a 4-hydroxybutyrate unit as polymerization units, and proportion of the 4-hydroxybutyrate unit relative to all monomer units is from 14 mol % to 40 mol %. The polyester film is useful for medical apparatus, packaging material for food, plastic sheet for agriculture, flowerpots for seedings, and sheets for construction and engineering.
Thermoplastic Polymer Particles and Method for Manufacturing Same
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing thermoplastic polymer particles, and the thermoplastic polymer particles, the method comprising the steps of: (1) extruding a thermoplastic polymer resin through an extruder; (2) spraying the extruded thermoplastic polymer resin through a nozzle and then spraying a gas to the sprayed thermoplastic polymer resin through a plurality of sprayers so as to granulate same; and (3) cooling the granulated thermoplastic polymer resin.
HEMP POLYMER MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
The present invention relates to polymer compounds containing hemp and/or components of hemp, and methods for producing such polymer compounds.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING RESIN MOLDED PRODUCT
An object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of reducing the hydrolysis of a biodegradable resin at the time of molding with respect to a biodegradable resin-containing resin composition having a high water content. Provided is a resin composition comprising: a biodegradable resin and heavy calcium carbonate particles in a mass ratio of 50:50 to 10:90, in which 0.5% by mass or more and 3.5% by mass or less of calcium oxide is comprised relative to the resin composition, and 0.2% by mass or more of water is comprised relative to the resin composition.
